2015 Eliteserien
The 2015 Tippeligaen was the 71st completed season of top-tier Association football, football in Norway. The competition began on 6 April 2015, one week later than in the 2014 Tippeligaen, previous season. A short summer-break in June was scheduled between the rounds played on 12 July and 26 July, and the decisive match was played on 8 November 2015. Molde FK, Molde were the defending champions. Sandefjord Fotball, Sandefjord, Tromsø IL, Tromsø and Mjøndalen IF Fotball, Mjøndalen joined as the promoted clubs from the 2014 1. divisjon. They replaced SK Brann, Brann, Sogndal Fotball, Sogndal and Sandnes Ulf who were relegated to the 2015 1. divisjon. Tippeligaen
Eliteserien () is a professional association football league in Norway and the highest level of the Norwegian football league system. Contested by 16 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Norwegian First Division. Seasons run from March to November with each team playing 30 matches (playing each other home and away). Most games are played on Sunday evenings. Eliteserien was founded in 1937 as Norgesserien (), and the first season was the 1937–38 season. The structure and name of Eliteserien, along with Norway's other football leagues, has undergone frequent changes. The top level was renamed ''Hovedserien'' in 1948, ''1. divisjon'' (now used by the second-level league in Norway) in 1963, then ''Tippeligaen'' (named for the main sponsor) in 1990. Idrettsklubben Start (or simply IK Start) is a Norwegian Association football, football club from the city of Kristiansand that currently plays in the Norwegian First Division, the second tier of the Norwegian football league system. The club was founded on 19 September 1905. The club's current head coach is Azar Karadas. The team plays in yellow jerseys, black shorts and socks at home, and black jerseys, yellow shorts and socks away. They play their home matches at Sør Arena, opened in 2007. Sarpsborg 08 Fotballforening, commonly known as Sarpsborg 08 or simply Sarpsborg (), is a Norwegian professional football club based in Sarpsborg, playing in Eliteserien. Sandnes Ulf is a Norwegian association football club from Sandnes, Rogaland, currently playing in the 2. divisjon, the third highest division in the Norwegian football league system.
