The 2015 Campeonato Brasileiro Série D, the fourth level of the Brazilian League, was contested by 40 clubs, and started on July 12 and ended on November 15, 2015. The four teams in the semifinals were promoted to the 2016 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C The Serie C of the Brazilian Championship 2016 is a football competition being held in Brazil, equivalent to the third division. It is being contested by 20 clubs in two geographic groups. Teams Number of teams by state League table Gro .... Competition format The 40 teams are divided in eight groups of 5, playing within them in a double round-robin format. The two best ranked in each group at the end of 8 rounds will qualify to the Second Stage, which will be played in home-and-away system. Winners advance to Third Stage. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D (English: Brazilian Championship Serie D), commonly known as the Série D or the Brazilian Série D to distinguish it from the Italian Serie D, is the fourth division of the Brazilian football league system, and was announced by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) on 9 April 2008. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D was formed from the split of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série C, Série C, keeping its best 20 clubs and playing double round robin as does the top three divisions. The Série D keeps the same format of the older Série C, but with participation limited to 40 clubs recognized by the state federation. In 2016 the Série D was expanded to 68 clubs, but in 2022 it was reduced to 64 clubs. The 2015 Campeonato Paraibano de Futebol was the 105th edition of Paraíba's top professional football league. The competition ran from 18 January to 13 June. The Campeonato Mineiro de Futebol de 2015 - Módulo I (also known as the Mineiro UNICEF 2015) was the 101st edition of the Campeonato Mineiro, Minas Gerais's top professional football league.
