The lightweight competition at the 2015 AIBA World Boxing Championships will be held from 7–15 October 2015. This is a qualifying tournament for the upcoming 2016 Summer Olympics. 2015 AIBA World Boxing Championships
The 2015 AIBA World Boxing Championships was held at the Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiya Arena in Doha, Qatar from 5 to 18 October 2015. This was a qualifying tournament for the 2016 Summer Olympics. Opening ceremony World pro boxing champions Mike Tyson, Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan, were the celebrity guests for the event. The event was broadcast to nearly 500 million viewers in 112 countries. 260 boxers from 74 countries participated in ten weight classes, among the prizes were 23 tickets for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.World Boxing Cup Inaugurates in Qatar

Robson Donato Conceição (born 25 October 1988) is a Brazilian professional boxer who has held the World Boxing Council (WBC) super featherweight title since July 2024. As an amateur, he became the first Brazilian boxer to win an Olympic gold medal at the 2016 Olympics. Joe Cordina (born 1 December 1991) is a Welsh professional boxer who held the IBF super-featherweight title in 2022. At regional level, he held the British and Commonwealth lightweight titles between 2018 and 2019.
