2014–15 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup
The 2014–2015 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup events and season-long competition took place between 10 October 2014 and 26 January 2014, organised by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). The men's competition took place without the Belgian Niels Albert, twice the winner, who announced his retirement from the sport in May, 2014 because of a heart condition. Katie Compton of the United States had dominated the women's competition last year and was attempting to defend her title. The third round held in Milton Keynes, England was notable for being the first time that a World Cup event had been held outside of mainland Europe. Events In comparison to last season's seven races, this season only had six. Rome, Nommay and Tábor were taken out of the programme – the latter ultimately hosting the World Championships – while Milton Keynes was added and Hoogerheide is back after hosting the 2014 World Championships . Kevin Pauwels
Kevin Pauwels (born 12 April 1984 in Ekeren) is a Belgian former professional racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2004 and 2019 for the and teams. Pauwels retired on 24 February 2019 after winning the Sluitingsprijs Oostmalle. Pauwels' elder brother, Tim Pauwels was also a professional cyclo-cross racer but died during a race in Erpe-Mere in 2004. Lars van der Haar (born 23 July 1991 in Amersfoort, Netherlands) is a Dutch professional cyclo-cross and road cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Continental team . Career Van der Haar joined the development team of the professional squad, for the 2014 season. He was subsequently promoted to the senior team for the 2015 season. Corné van Kessel (born 7 August 1991) is a Dutch professional cyclo-cross and road cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Cyclo-cross team Team Deschacht–Group Hens–Containers Maes. Career Van Kessel was born in Veldhoven. After spending his first years with the Belgian Lotto Olympia Tienen team, he switched to from September 2009 on, first in the development team and since 2013 as an elite rider.
