2014–15 Sumgayit FK Season
The Sumgayit FK, Sumgayit 2014–15 season is Sumgayit's fourth Azerbaijan Premier League season. They will also participate in the 2014–15 Azerbaijan Cup, Azerbaijan Cup and it is their first season with Ilham Yadullayev as their manager. On 5 August 2014, Sumgayit changed the name of their stadium from ''Mehdi Huseynzade Stadium'' to Kapital Bank Arena for sponsorship reasons. Sumqayıt FK (, ) is an Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani professional Association football, football club based in Sumgayit, Sumgait, that plays in the Azerbaijan Premier League, the top tier of Football in Azerbaijan, football in the country. History The club was founded in 2010 as Sumqayıt FK. In May 2011, the team secured their promotion to Azerbaijan Premier League after getting wildcard place instead of defunct FC Absheron, Absheron. After securing promotion to the Premier League, the club based most of their squad on players from Azerbaijan's Azerbaijan national football team U-19, U-19 and Azerbaijan national under-17 football team, U-17 players. In January 2012, the club announced that its old name was being restored. Budag Nasirov (); born 15 July 1996) is an Azerbaijani football midfielder. Career Club On 25 July 2016, Nasirov signed a contract with Sporting CP, which can be extended to a five-year term. FC Baku (), founded as Dinamo Baku in 1997, was an Azerbaijani football club based in Baku that had been an amateur club since 2016. Prior to that, Baku played 18 seasons in the Azerbaijan Premier League, winning the championship twice and the National Cup three times. The club ceased operations in 2018.
