2014–15 Greek Basketball Cup
The 2014–15 Greek Basketball Cup competition was the 40th edition of the top-tier level professional national domestic basketball cup competition of Greece. The competition started on September 21, 2014, and ended on April 5, 2015. Panathinaikos beat Apollon Patras by a score of 53–68 in the Greek Cup Finals, to win its fourth straight cup title, and 16th cup title overall. Panathinaikos' Loukas Mavrokefalidis was named the Greek Basketball Cup Most Valuable Player. Format The top six placed teams from the top-tier level Greek Basket League 2013–14 season had an automatic bye to the quarterfinals. While the eight lower placed teams from the Greek Basket League 2013–14 season, along with the 14 teams from the 2nd-tier level Greek A2 Basket League 2014–15 season, played in preliminary rounds, competing for the other two quarterfinals places. Single Elimination
A single-elimination knockout, or sudden-death tournament is a type of elimination tournament where the loser of a match-up is immediately eliminated from the tournament. Each winner will play another in the next round, until the final match-up, whose winner becomes the tournament champion(s). Some match-ups may be a single match or several, for example two-legged ties in European sports or best-of series in North American pro sports. Defeated competitors may play no further part after losing, or may participate in "consolation" or "classification" matches against other losers to determine the lower final rankings; for example, a third place playoff between losing semi-finalists. OAKA Indoor Hall
OAKA Basketball Arena, previously known as Olympic Indoor Hall of O.A.C.A., is a part of the Athens Olympic Sports Complex, Spyros Louis Olympic Athletic Center of Athens (). It was completed in 1994 and is the largest indoor venue in Greece. It was used for sporting events at the 2004 Summer Olympics. The venue is located in Marousi, a northern suburb of Athens. During its construction, it was considered to be one of the biggest and most modern Indoor arena, indoor sports arenas in all of Europe. The 18,300-capacity arena is accompanied by an adjacent training facility, and a parking lot. In 2023, Panathinaikos B.C. signed an agreement with the Greek state for a 49-year concession of the asset, making the club the sole tenant and binding it to invest in the renovation of the asset's infrastructure.
