The 2014–15 Bayer 04 Leverkusen season is the 111th season in the club's football history. Season review In the 2013–14 season, Bayer Leverkusen finished in fourth place in the Bundesliga. A very tight finish for the UEFA Champions League qualifier spot with both Borussia Mönchengladbach and VfL Wolfsburg all capable of getting fourth place. In the end, Leverkusen came back from 1–0 down to win the final game 2–1. This was a must win game for them because Wolfsburg had won their game and were in the running to finish fourth ahead of Leverkusen. The transfer window started very early for Bayer Leverkusen as they have announced a five-year deal for Swiss international striker Josip Drmić who was previously with 1. Stefan Reinartz (born 1 January 1989) is a German former professional footballer who played a defensive midfielder or defender. Career Reinartz was born in Engelskirchen, North Rhine-Westphalia. He came through the ranks at Bayer Leverkusen, but did not play any games for them in the 2008–09 season. He made his professional debut in the Second Division while on loan with 1. Julian Brandt (; born 2 May 1996) is a German professional footballer who plays as a left winger or attacking midfielder for Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund and the Germany national team. Wendell Nascimento Borges (born 20 July 1993), commonly known as Wendell, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Campeonato Brasileiro Série A club São Paulo and the Brazil national team. Sebastian Boenisch (, ; ; born 1 February 1987) is a Polish former professional footballer who played as a full-back. Levin Mete Öztunalı (born 15 March 1996) is a German professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for 2. Bundesliga club Hamburger SV.
