2014–15 Ascenso MX Season
The 2014–15 Ascenso MX season began July 18, 2014 and is divided into two tournaments named Apertura 2014 and Clausura 2015. The Ascenso MX is the second-tier Association football, football league of Mexico. Changes from the previous season * Club Universidad de Guadalajara, U. de G. were promoted to Liga MX. * Atlante F.C. were relegated from Liga MX. * Zacatepec, Zacatepec 1948 were relegated to Segunda División de México, but was able to purchase Cruz Azul Hidalgo's spot to remain in Ascenso MX and was rebranded Zacatepec, Zacatepec Siglo XXI. Ascenso MX
Ascenso MX, also known as Ascenso BBVA MX for sponsorship reasons, was a professional association football league in Mexico and the second level of the Mexican football league system. Formerly known as Primera División A de México (1994–2009) and also as Liga de Ascenso (2009–2012). The champions of the competition was promoted to Liga MX (top level), and the bottom team was relegated to Liga Premier (third level). In 2012, the league rebranded its name and competition format as Ascenso MX, the major changes (clubs do not need a FMF certification to be promoted and that the competition no longer used group stages). Ascenso MX was replaced by Liga de Expansión MX on April 17, 2020. Club Deportivo Leones Negros de la Universidad de Guadalajara, abbreviated and simply known as Leones Negros UdeG, is a Mexican professional football club based in Guadalajara, Jalisco, that currently plays in Liga de Expansión MX, the second level division of Mexican football. Estadio Altamira
Estadio Altamira is the current stadium for the team Estudiantes de Altamira, which plays in the Liga de Ascenso. The stadium, which seats 9,581 people, is located in the port city of Altamira in the state of Tamaulipas. History The idea of constructing Estadio Altamira (initially called ''Estadio Deportivo Sur de Tamaulipas''), was the initiative of the founder of the club, Enrique de Hita Yibale. Altamira (Tamaulipas)
Altamira is a municipality in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas. It is located immediately to the north of the municipalities of Tampico and Ciudad Madero, at the southern tip of the state of Tamaulipas, on the Gulf of Mexico. Additionally, it borders the municipalities of González on the west and Aldama on the north, as well as Pánuco in the state of Veracruz on the southeast. Club de Fútbol Lobos de la Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla were a Mexican football club based in Puebla, Mexico. The club represented the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla. Club de Fútbol Correcaminos de la Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas, simply known as Correcaminos UAT, is a Mexican professional football club based in Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas. Club De Futbol Ballenas Galeana Morelos
Club de Fútbol Ballenas Galeana Morelos was a Mexican football club that played in the Tercera División de México. The club was based in Xochitepec, Morelos. History The club was founded in 1956 by Donato Rodríguez who constructed a small field between the streets Hermenegildo Galeana in downtown of Cuernavaca Morelos because the majority of the players lived in that area. That club played in that ground from 1956-1968. Estudiantes Tecos
Tecos Fútbol Club, simply known as Tecos, is a Mexican professional football club based in Zapopan, Jalisco, and associated with the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara (UAG). It competes in Liga Premier, the third level division of Mexican football. Founded in 1971 as Club de Fútbol Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara and commonly known as Tecos UAG, then changed its name to Club Deportivo Estudiantes Tecos in 2009.
