The 2013–14 season was the 115th season of competitive league football in the history of English football club Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C., Wolverhampton Wanderers. The club competed in Football League One, League One, the third tier of the English football league system, English football system for the first time since 1988–89 Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. season, 1988–89. The 2012–13 Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. season, previous season had brought relegation for a second successive season. Former Millwall F.C., Millwall manager Kenny Jackett was appointed as Wolves' new head coach in the close season, replacing Dean Saunders who was fired after overseeing their relegation. Dean Nicholas Saunders (born 21 June 1964) is a Welsh football manager and former professional footballer. As a player, he was a striker in a career which lasted from 1982 until 2001. He played for Liverpool and Aston Villa in the 1990s, and set a new British transfer record when he joined the former from Derby County. He began at his hometown club Swansea City before also playing for Brighton, Oxford United, Bradford City, Nottingham Forest and Sheffield United as well as spells at Galatasaray and Benfica. Kevin David McDonald (born 4 November 1988) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Exeter City. He began his career with Dundee before moving to England to sign for Burnley, for whom he played one season in the Premier League. He spent two full seasons with Sheffield United before moving to Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2013 where he spent three seasons. Christophe Berra
Christophe Didier Berra (born 31 January 1985) is a Scottish professional football former player and coach. Berra began his professional career with Heart of Midlothian, playing 146 times for them before he moved to England in 2009 in a £2.5 million transfer to Wolverhampton Wanderers. He was part of their promotion to the Premier League months later and played in the top flight with the team for three seasons before relegation.
