2013–14 QMJHL Season
The 2013–14 QMJHL season is the 45th season of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). The regular season consisted of 18 teams playing 68 games each, beginning on September 12, 2013, and ending on March 15, 2014. Team changes *The P.E.I. Quebec Major Junior Hockey League
The Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL; , LHJMQ), formerly the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League is one of the three major junior ice hockey leagues that constitute the Canadian Hockey League (CHL). The league includes teams in Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador, and the The Maritimes, Maritime provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island, and previously had teams in Maine and New York (state), New York in the United States. The Gilles-Courteau Trophy is the championship trophy of the league. The QMJHL champion then goes on to compete in the Memorial Cup against the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and Western Hockey League (WHL) champions, and the CHL host team. The QMJHL had traditionally adopted a rapid and offensive style of hockey. Chicoutimi Saguenéens
The Chicoutimi Saguenéens are a Canadian junior ice hockey team which plays in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). The team is based in Chicoutimi, Quebec, and owned by the City of Saguenay. The team plays its home games at the Centre Georges-Vézina. History The Chicoutimi Saguenéens franchise was granted for the 1973–74 season. The team's name, ''Saguenéens'', literally means "People from the Saguenay." The current junior team is only the most recent to use the name. The "Sags", as they are popularly nicknamed, have won the President's Cup twice in their history, in 1990–91 and in 1993–94. In both instances they advanced to the Memorial Cup, failing to advance past the round-robin stage on each occasion. Guillaume Gélinas
Guillaume Gélinas (born June 14, 1993) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman. He last played for UK Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) side Belfast Giants in Northern Ireland. Playing career Gelinas played junior hockey for the Val-d'Or Foreurs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League from the 2009–10 season. He received the Emile Bouchard Trophy as the league's best defenceman during the 2013–14 QMJHL season but was not selected in the NHL draft. On July 1, 2014, Gelinas signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Minnesota Wild. Anthony Duclair
Anthony Duclair (born August 26, 1995) is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward for the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League (NHL). Duclair was selected by the New York Rangers in the third round, 80th overall, of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, the organization with which he began his NHL career. Duclair has also played in the NHL for the Arizona Coyotes, Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets, Ottawa Senators, Florida Panthers, San Jose Sharks and Tampa Bay Lightning. Early years Duclair was born on August 26, 1995, in Pointe-Claire, Quebec, and was raised in Laval by Haitian immigrants Wendell Duclair and Dominique Raphael. While both his father and uncle played Canadian football, with uncle Farell Duclair helping the Calgary Stampeders win the 86th Grey Cup in 1998, Anthony instead played ice hockey.
