2013–14 OJHL Season
The 2013–14 OJHL season is the 20th season of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) and the fourth since the league existed as two separate bodies in 2009–10. The twenty-two teams of the North, South, East and West Divisions will play 55-game schedules. Come February, the top teams of each division will play down for the Frank L. Buckland Trophy, the OJHL championship. The winner of the Buckland Cup will compete in the Central Canadian Junior "A" championship, the Dudley Hewitt Cup. If successful against the winners of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League and Superior International Junior Hockey League, the champion would then move on to play in the Canadian Junior Hockey League championship, the 2014 Royal Bank Cup. Ontario Junior Hockey League
The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) is a Junior A ice hockey league in Ontario, Canada. It is under the supervision of the Ontario Hockey Association (OHA) and the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL). The league dates back to 1954 where it began as the "Central Junior B Hockey League". In 1993, the Central Junior B Hockey League was promoted to the Junior A level and renamed the "Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League". In 2009, the league was dissolved by the Ontario Hockey Association and split into two leagues: the "Central Canadian Hockey League" and the "Ontario Junior A Hockey League". By early 2010, the two leagues merged to reform the Ontario Junior Hockey League. At its peak, the league was composed of 37 teams and is now mostly based in the Greater Toronto Area with a few teams eastward towards Kingston, Ontario, Kingston. Pickering (2021 Canadian census, 2021 population 99,186) is a city located in Southern Ontario, Canada, immediately east of Toronto in Durham Region, Ontario, Durham Region. Trenton Golden Hawks
The Trenton Golden Hawks are a Canadian Junior ice hockey team from Trenton, Ontario. They are members of the Ontario Junior Hockey League, a part of the Canadian Junior Hockey League and a member of the Ontario Hockey Association and Hockey Canada. The team relocated to Trenton in 2009, but were previously known as the Port Hope Predators of Port Hope, Ontario. The team started in 1996 as the Port Hope Buzzards of the Metro Junior A Hockey League. Wellington, Ontario
Wellington is an unincorporated place and community in Prince Edward County in eastern Ontario, Canada. It has a population of 1,932 according to the 2016 Census. The community is located on the shore of both Lake Ontario and West Lake in the southwest of the county. Wellington Dukes
The Wellington Dukes are a Junior "A" ice hockey team from Wellington, Ontario, Canada. They are in the Eastern Division of the Ontario Junior Hockey League and used to be a part of the Metro Junior A Hockey League. Originally a Junior C team in the 1970s and 1980s, the Dukes merged with the neighbouring Jr. B Belleville Bobcats and took their place in the Metro League. The Dukes have won the Dudley Hewitt Cup as Central Canadian Junior A Champions three times (2003, 2011, 2018). The Cobourg Cougars are a junior ice hockey team from Cobourg, Ontario, Canada. They are a part of the East division of the Ontario Junior Hockey League, a member of the Canadian Junior Hockey League. The Cougars won the 2017 Royal Bank Cup national junior A championship. Whitby Fury
The Haliburton County Huskies are a Junior "A" ice hockey team from Haliburton, Ontario, Canada. They are a part of the Ontario Junior Hockey League. History This franchise was founded in 1965 as the Oshawa Crushmen, and were initially a member of the Eastern Junior B Hockey League. In 1972, the Crushmen jumped to the Metro Junior B Hockey League and were renamed the Legionaires. In the late 1970s, the Legionaires were coached by future National Hockey League coach "Iron" Mike Keenan. Keenan's star player during this time was a young Dale Hawerchuk. At the end of the 2005–06 season, the Oshawa Legionaires were bought out by NHLers Keith Primeau, Wayne Primeau, as well as business man Peter Tosh. Kingston is a city in Ontario, Canada, on the northeastern end of Lake Ontario. The Kingston Voyageurs were a Junior "A" ice hockey team from Kingston, Ontario, Canada. They were a part of the Ontario Junior A Hockey League. History The Voyageurs entered the Metro Junior B Hockey League in 1974.
