2013–14 Liga Gimel
The 2013–14 Liga Gimel season saw 113 clubs competing in 8 regional divisions for promotion to 2014–15 Liga Bet, Liga Bet. Hapoel Ironi Safed F.C., Hapoel Ironi Safed (Upper Galilee), Maccabi Ironi Yafa F.C., Maccabi Ironi Yafa (Lower Galilee), F.C. al-Nahda Nazareth (Jezreel), F.C. Baqa (Samaria), Hapoel Kafr Qasim Shouaa F.C., Hapoel Kafr Qasim Shouaa (Sharon), F.C. Roei Heshbon Tel Aviv (Tel Aviv), Beitar Yavne F.C., F.C. Beitar Yavne (Central) and Hapoel Merhavim F.C., Hapoel Merhavim (South) all won their respective divisions and were promoted to Liga Bet. During the summer, as several vacancies were created in Liga Bet, runners-up Hapoel Ironi Bnei I'billin F.C., Hapoel Ironi Bnei I'billin (Lower Galilee), Hapoel F.C. Liga Gimel
Liga Gimel (, lit. ''League C'') is, since 2009, the fifth and bottom division of Israeli football league system, Israeli Football League. From Liga Alef and downwards, including Liga Gimel, each league is separated by region. History Liga Gimel was first established in 1951 as a third division, below Liga Alef and Liga Bet. In 1955, after designating the first tier as Liga Leumit, Liga Gimel was demoted to the fourth tier. Further demotions followed in 1976, after the second tier Liga Artzit to the fifth tier and in 1999, after the establishment of Israeli Premier League, Liga Ha'Al to the sixth tier. At the end of the 2008–09 season, Liga Artzit was scrapped and Liga Gimel was brought up back to the fifth tier. Since its establishment Liga Gimel was divided into geographical divisions, to lower operating costs for the clubs, the number of which changed according to the number of club which registered, with as many as 16 divisions in the 1966–68 Liga Gimel, 1966–68 season. ... Hapoel (, ) is an Israeli Jewish sports association established in 1926 by the Histadrut Labor Federation. History During the British Mandate of Palestine period Hapoel had a bitter rivalry with Maccabi and organized its own competitions, with the exception of football, the only sport in which all the organizations played each other. At the time, Hapoel took no part in the ''Eretz Israel Olympic Committee'', which was controlled by Maccabi, and instead sought for international ties with similar workers sports organizations of socialist parties. Therefore, Hapoel became a member of SASI in 1927 and later was a member of CSIT. After the State of Israel was established, the rival sport organizations reached a 1951 agreement that allowed joint sports associations and competitions open for all Israeli residents. The Betar Movement (), also spelled Beitar (), is a Revisionist Zionist youth movement founded in 1923 in Riga, Latvia, by Vladimir (Ze'ev) Jabotinsky.
