2013–14 Georgian Cup
The 2013–14 Georgian Cup (also known as the ''David Kipiani Cup'') is the seventieth season overall and the twenty-fourth since independence of the Georgian annual football tournament. The competition began on 21 August 2013 and will end with the final in May 2014. The defending champions are Dinamo Tbilisi, after winning their tenth ever Georgian Cup last season. The winner of the competition will qualify for the second qualifying round of the 2014–15 UEFA Europa League. First round The first legs were held on 21 and 22 August, with the return matches from 17 September. FC Dinamo Tbilisi
FC Dinamo Tbilisi ( ka, დინამო თბილისი, ) is a Georgian professional football club based in Tbilisi that competes in the Erovnuli Liga, the top flight of Georgian football. Dinamo Tbilisi was one of the most prominent clubs in Soviet football and a major contender in the Soviet Top League almost immediately after it was established in 1936. The club was then part of one of the leading sport societies in the Soviet Union, the All-Union Dynamo sports society which had several other divisions besides football and was sponsored by the Soviet Ministry of Internal Affairs. Its main claim to European fame was winning the Cup Winners' Cup in 1981, beating FC Carl Zeiss Jena of East Germany 2–1 in the final in Düsseldorf. FC Sulori ( ka, საფეხბურთო კლუბი სულორი) is a Georgian football club based in the town of Vani. They currently take part in Liga 4, the fourth tier of Georgian football. The team has spent two seasons in the top flight. They play their home matches at the Grigol Nikoleishvili Stadium. History Sulori became champions of the Georgian Soviet league in 1969. This success enabled the club to participate in the Soviet Second Minor league the next year, which they finished in the 10th place among 18 teams. FC Kolkheti-1913 Poti
FC Kolkheti 1913, commonly referred to as Kolkheti Poti, is a Georgia (country), Georgian association football, football club based in Poti. The team competes in the Erovnuli Liga, the top division of Football in Georgia (country), Georgian football. Being registered in 1913, Kolkheti is considered one of the oldest clubs in the South Caucasus. They are the two-time winners of the Soviet republican championship. After an independent Umaglesi Liga was formed in 1990, Kolkheti joined it as a 3rd-tier club and subsequently spent 17 successive seasons before worsening financial problems resulted in their first relegation. FC Dinamo Batumi ( ka, საფეხბურთო კლუბი დინამო ბათუმი) is a Georgian professional football club based in Batumi, Adjara that competes in the Erovnuli Liga, the top division of the national football system. The club won the champion's title in 2021 and 2023, the Georgian Cup in 1997–98, and two Georgian Super Cups, in 1997–98 and 2022. FC Gagra
FC Gagra ( ka, საფეხბურთო კლუბი გაგრა) is a Georgian football club, which competes in the Erovnuli Liga, the first tier of Georgian football. The club has its origins in Gagra, Abkhazia. It was founded in Tbilisi by former player and coach Goderdzi Chikhradze and his cousin in 2004 with a plan to move the club to Gagra in the end, but due to the ongoing Abkhazia conflict the team plays its home games in Tbilisi. FC Gagra is the only non-top flight Georgian team which has twice won the national cup. FC Metalurgi Rustavi
Metalurgi Rustavi was a Georgian football team based in Rustavi, which has twice won the national league. In Soviet times, the club played under the name "Metalurgi" (Rustavi), then during the independence of Georgia, the club was called "Gorda" (Rustavi) and FC Rustavi. After FC Tbilisi merged with club FC Rustavi in 2006, FC Olimpi Rustavi was established. History Football in Rustavi could be traced back to Metalurgi Rustavi in the Soviet era. FC Chiatura
FC Magaroeli is a Georgian football club from Chiatura. Since the 2023 season they have been competing in Regionuli Liga, the fifth tier of Georgian football. The team has twice participated in the top tier. History Formed in 1923, Chiatura won the Georgian championship in 1975, and also clinched the domestic Cup title in 1978 and 1979. The club spent four seasons in the Soviet Second league. In 1992/93 season the club finished second in Pirveli Liga which paved the way for Umaglesi Liga in 1993/94. Magaroeli participated in the top flight also in 1997/98. Between 2004 and 2017 the club spent 13 successive seasons in Liga 2. At one point the club came close to another promotion. FC Tskhinvali
FC Tskhinvali is a defunct Georgian football club, which in mid-2010s spent four seasons in the top tier of the national league. Despite the name, due to the enduring Georgian–Ossetian conflict they were unable to host their opponents in the city of Tskhinvali, playing home games instead in Georgian-controlled areas, mostly in Gori, Tbilisi and Rustavi. In early 2020, the club was disqualified from Liga 3 after their failure to solve a severe financial crisis. FC WIT Georgia is a Georgian football team from Tbilisi. The team is sponsored by WIT Georgia Ltd (a subsidiary of the United States WIT, Inc.), a pet food, accessories, and human and veterinary pharmaceuticals import company.
