2013–14 Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 2
The 2013–14 Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 2 was the forty-eight edition of the Algerian second division since its establishment, and its fourth season of the league under its current title. A total of 16 teams contested the league. The league started August 23, 2013, and concluded on May 16, 2014. USM Bel-Abbès were crowned champions and promoted to the 2014–15 Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1 along with NA Hussein Dey and ASM Oran. At the bottom of the table, A Bou Saâda, US Chaouia and USMM Hadjout were relegated. Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 2
The Algerian Ligue 2, also called Ligue 2, formerly known as Ligue Professionnelle 2 and Championnat National 2, is the second highest division overall in the Algerian football league system. Administered by the Ligue Nationale du Football Amateur, it is contested by 32 clubs, divided into two groups with the two champions of each group promoted to Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1, Ligue Professionnelle 1 and the bottom 3 teams of each group relegated to the Inter-Régions Division. It was professional from 2010 to 2020. History The league was created in 1962, when Algeria became an independent nation, and has been played in a number of different formats. In 2010, the league became fully professional. Batna, Algeria
Batna () is the main city and commune of Batna Province, Algeria. With a population of 290,645 (2008 census) it is the fifth largest city in Algeria. It is also one of the principal cities of the Chaoui area and is considered the capital of Aurès. History Batna was inhabited by Chaoui tribes and there were previous settlements in the area but they were in ruins by the 18th century. Stade Habib Bouakeul
The Habib Bouakeul Stadium () is a multi-use stadium in Oran, Algeria. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of ASM Oran. Another club, SCM Oran also play there. The stadium holds 20,000 people. History The stadium was built in 1927 in the Les Amandiers district (now Haï El-Louz) of Oran under the name of the Stade Alenda. It was renovated on 19 December 1948, when its name was changed to Stade Vincent Monréal; it was the biggest stadium in Oran at the time. After the independence of Algeria, it was renamed Stade Habib Bouakeul in commemoration of Habib Bouakeul, a martyr of the Algeria War.
