2013–14 AS Roma Season
The 2013–14 season was Associazione Sportiva Roma's 86th in existence and 85th season in the top flight of Italian football. The pre-season started with the June hiring of Lille OSC manager Rudi Garcia. Garcia replaced caretaker manager Aurelio Andreazzoli who took charge after the sacking of Zdeněk Zeman in February 2013. Andreazzoli's reign had seen the continuation of a disappointing season, with the team ending up in 6th place in Serie A, whilst also losing 1–0 to regional rivals Lazio in the Coppa Italia final. As a result, Roma missed out on European competition for the second season in a row. The 2013–14 season, in contrast, saw one of Roma's best ever in Serie A, the club tallying an impressive 85 points and finishing second to Juventus, who won the league with a record-breaking 102 points. Associazione Sportiva Roma (''Rome Sport Association''; Italian pronunciation: Help:IPA/Italian, ) is a professional Association football, football club based in Rome, Italy. The 2012–13 Coppa Italia, also known as TIM Cup for sponsorship reasons, was the 66th edition of the domestic competition. As in the previous year, 78 clubs have taken part in the tournament. Maicon Sisenando
Maicon Douglas Sisenando (born 26 July 1981), also known as Maicon Douglas () or simply Maicon, is a Brazilian former footballer who played as a right-back. Known for his directness, speed, crossing, and ability defensively, he was considered one of the best right backs of his generation. Maicon began his career in his native country with Cruzeiro, after initially playing for Grêmio and Criciúma at youth level. He played 125 times for Cruzeiro between 2000 and 2004, earning one national league title and several other domestic competitions, before moving to Europe when he signed for Ligue 1 side Monaco. Leandro Castán da Silva (born 5 November 1986) is a Brazilian former international footballer who played as a centre-back. José Rodolfo Pires Ribeiro (born 6 February 1992), commonly known as Dodô, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a left back.
