A by-election for the Welsh Assembly constituency of Ynys Môn (Assembly constituency), Ynys Môn was held on 1 August 2013, The by-election was triggered following the resignation on 20 June 2013 of its sitting Assembly Member, Ieuan Wyn Jones. The election was the List of Welsh Assembly by-elections, third Assembly by-election to be held since its formation in 1999, and the first for over seven years (the previous contest being at 2006 Blaenau Gwent by-elections, Blaenau Gwent in June 2006). 2006 Blaenau Gwent By-elections
Two by-elections were held for the constituency of Blaenau Gwent in Wales following the death of Member of Parliament and Assembly Member Peter Law on 25 April 2006. As Law was the MP and Assembly Member (AM), his death required by-elections in both the parliamentary seat and the equivalent Welsh Assembly constituency. The two elections polled on the same day, 29 June, as a by-election in Bromley and Chislehurst. A win by the Labour Party in the AM by-election would have restored their majority in the Welsh Assembly, which was lost when Law was expelled from the party. Law's successors won both seats: the independent Dai Davies, Law's former election agent, won the Westminster seat with a majority of about two and a half thousand. The 2011 National Assembly for Wales election was an election for the Senedd, National Assembly. The poll was held on 5 May 2011 and decided the incumbency for all the Assembly's seats. It was the fourth election for seats in the National Assembly for Wales (previous elections having been held in 1999 National Assembly for Wales election, 1999, 2003 National Assembly for Wales election, 2003 and 2007 National Assembly for Wales election, 2007), and the second election taken under the rules of the Government of Wales Act 2006. The 2001 United Kingdom general election was held on Thursday 7 June 2001, four years after the previous election on 1 May 1997, to elect 659 members to the House of Commons. Ynys Môn (; officially called Anglesey until 1983) is a United Kingdom constituencies, constituency of the House of Commons of the United Kingdom, House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom.
