The 2013 Nova Scotia general election was held on October 8, 2013, to elect members to the Nova Scotia House of Assembly. The result of the election was a Nova Scotia Liberal Party, Liberal victory under the leadership of Stephen McNeil, with the party winning its first election since 1998 Nova Scotia general election, 1998. Nova Scotia Liberal Party
The Nova Scotia Liberal Party (officially the Liberal Association of Nova Scotia) is a Centrist politics, centrist provincial political party in Nova Scotia, Canada and the provincial section of the Liberal Party of Canada. The party currently holds two seats in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly, Legislature, under the interim leadership of Derek Mombourquette. Allan Gerard MacMaster (born September 26, 1974) is a Canadian politician. He represents the electoral district of Inverness in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly as a member of the Progressive Conservative Party. Early life and career He is the son of Marie and Hugh Alan "Buddy" MacMaster, and grew up in Judique in Inverness County. He graduated from St. Francis Xavier University with a degree in business administration. Angus "Tando" MacIsaac (born June 4, 1943) is a politician, educator and businessman in Nova Scotia, Canada. Political career Angus MacIsaac's father, Alexander MacIsaac, was MLA of Guysborough prior to October 1968. Upon Alexander MacIsaac's death, a by-election was called. Angus MacIsaac, then 25 years old, ran, and was first elected to the Nova Scotia House of Assembly on February 11, 1969. MacIsaac ran as a Progressive Conservative and obtained a 371-vote margin of victory. MacIsaac was re-elected with a 265-vote margin on October 13, 1970, in a general election. Robert Anthony "Tony" Ince (born 1958) is a Canadian politician, who was elected to the Nova Scotia House of Assembly in the 2013 provincial election, representing the electoral district of Cole Harbour for the Nova Scotia Liberal Party where he defeated the incumbent, Premier Darrell Dexter. The 1882 Nova Scotia general election was held on 20 June 1882 to elect members of the 28th House of Assembly of the province of Nova Scotia, Canada. It was won by the Liberal Party, their first of ten consecutive wins that would see them retain power until 1925. Nova Scotia New Democratic Party
The Nova Scotia New Democratic Party (Nova Scotia NDP) is a social democratic political party in Nova Scotia, Canada. It is the provincial section for the province of the federal New Democratic Party. It was founded as the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (CCF) in 1932, and became the New Democratic Party in 1961. It became the governing party of Nova Scotia following the 2009 Nova Scotia election, winning 31 seats in the Legislature, under the leadership of Premier Darrell Dexter. It is the only New Democratic Party in Atlantic Canada to form a government, and the second to form a government in a province east of Manitoba.
