2012–13 Ottawa Senators Season
The 2012–13 Ottawa Senators season was the Ottawa Senators seasons, 21st season of the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League (NHL). The regular season was reduced from its usual 82 games to 48 due to a 2012–13 NHL lockout, lockout. Despite having a large number of injuries, the Senators qualified for the Stanley Cup playoffs, defeating the Montreal Canadiens in the first round before being eliminated by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the second round. After 19 years, this season marked the end of the Daniel Alfredsson era. Before signing with the Detroit Red Wings the 2013–14 NHL season, following season, Alfredsson has been the Senators' team captain since 1999–2000 NHL season, 1999 and is believed by many as the greatest Senator of all-time. Eastern Conference (NHL)
The Eastern Conference () is one of two conferences in the National Hockey League (NHL) used to divide teams. Its counterpart is the Western Conference (NHL), Western Conference. History Originally named the Prince of Wales Conference (or Wales Conference for short), it was created in 1974–75 NHL season, 1974 when the NHL realigned its teams into two conferences and four divisions. Because the new conferences and divisions had little to do with North American geography, geographical references were removed. The Stanley Cup playoffs () is the annual elimination tournament to determine the winner of the Stanley Cup, and the league champion of the National Hockey League (NHL). The four-round, best-of-seven tournament is held after the NHL's regular season. Eight teams from each of the league's two conferences qualify for the playoffs based on regular season points totals. Matt Carkner
Matthew Carkner (born November 3, 1980) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman who most recently served as the head coach and general manager of the Orlando Solar Bears of the ECHL before he resigned June 17, 2025. He was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens 58th overall in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft and played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the San Jose Sharks, Ottawa Senators, and New York Islanders. Throughout his career, Carkner was known for his physical play and abilities as a fighter. Filip Kuba
Filip Kuba (born December 29, 1976) is a Czech former professional ice hockey defenseman. Kuba most recently played for the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League (NHL). He has previously played for the Minnesota Wild, Tampa Bay Lightning, and the Ottawa Senators of the NHL. Playing career Kuba was drafted in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft by the Florida Panthers in the 8th round, 192nd overall, after playing with HC Vítkovice junior team in his native Czech Republic. Upon being drafted, he remained in the Czech Republic for one more season, playing with HC Vítkovice's senior team of the Czech Extraliga. Zenon Konopka
Zenon Konopka (born January 2, 1981) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. Also known as "Zenon the Destroyer", Konopka played for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, Columbus Blue Jackets, Tampa Bay Lightning, New York Islanders, Ottawa Senators, Minnesota Wild, and Buffalo Sabres during his National Hockey League (NHL) career. Cody Ceci
Cody Ceci (born December 21, 1993) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman for the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League (NHL). He previously played for the Ottawa Senators, Toronto Maple Leafs, Pittsburgh Penguins, Edmonton Oilers, and San Jose Sharks. Ottawa 67's
The Ottawa 67's are a major junior ice hockey team based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, that plays in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). Established during Canada's centennial year of 1967 and named in honour of this, the 67's currently play their home games at TD Place Arena. The 67's are three-time OHL champions, and have played in the Memorial Cup five times, winning in 1984 and as host team in 1999. 1999–2000 NHL Season
The 1999–2000 NHL season was the 83rd regular season of the National Hockey League. With the addition of the expansion Atlanta Thrashers, 28 teams each played 82 games. This was the first season played in which teams were awarded a point for an overtime loss.
