Newcastle Jets FC
Newcastle United Jets Football Club, commonly known as Newcastle Jets, is an Australian professional Association football, soccer club based in Newcastle, New South Wales. It competes in the country's premier competition, the A-League, under Professional sports league organization#Systems around the world, licence from the Australian Professional Leagues (APL) (formerly under licence from Football Australia). The club was formed in 2000 when it joined the National Soccer League (NSL) and was one of only three former NSL clubs to join in the formation of the A-League. Ben Kantarovski
Benjamin Kantarovski () (born 20 January 1992) is a former Australian professional soccer player who played for the Newcastle Jets as a midfielder. Ben is the older brother of former Newcastle Jets FC player Michael Kantarovski. Club career Newcastle Jets Kantarovski was signed to a four-year contract by the Newcastle Jets in January 2008 while attending Lambton High School at only 15 years of age, making him the youngest player in A-League history to sign a full-time A-League contract, and one of the youngest players in world football to do so. He made his A-League debut in Round 1 of the 2008–09 season against the Central Coast Mariners playing as a defender. Mark Birighitti
Mark Romano Birighitti (born 17 April 1991) is an Australian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for A-League Men side Perth Glory. Born in Perth, Birighitti played youth football at the Australian Institute of Sport before making his professional debut for Adelaide United. In 2012, he moved to Newcastle Jets and spent time on loan to Italian club Varese in 2015. In 2016, Birighitti left Newcastle to again move to Europe, firstly with Swansea City and then NAC Breda. He returned to the A-League in 2018 with Melbourne City before moving to Central Coast Mariners a year later. He then signed for Dundee United in 2022. Jacob Scott Pepper (born 8 May 1992) is an Australian professional soccer player who currently plays for Newcastle Suns as a defensive midfielder in Newcastle Zone League One. Career Newcastle Jets On 18 December 2010, Pepper made his senior debut in a 4–0 loss to Wellington Phoenix. On 14 February 2012 it was announced he had signed a two-year contract extension with Newcastle Jets. James Virgili
James Robert Virgili (born 8 July 1992) is an Australian retired professional soccer player who last played for Newcastle Jets in the A-League. Newcastle Jets On 4 January 2009, he made his senior debut as a substitute against Wellington Phoenix. This also made him the youngest player in A-League history to make his debut at 16 years and 180 days. Virgili broke into the first team in the 2012/13 Hyundai A-League season. He became a regular starter known for his high speed and his ability to get past players with his dribbling and ball control. Taylor Francis George Regan (born 16 November 1988) is an Australian soccer player who plays as a defender for Charlestown Azzurri. He will join Selangor FC in 2025. Bernardo Salim Ribeiro (9 October 19897 May 2016) was a Brazilian footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. As a young player he moved to Europe, where he played in Italy, Albania (where he won the national championship of 2012 with Skënderbeu Korçë), and Finland.
