2012–13 New York Islanders Season
The 2012–13 New York Islanders season was the 41st season in the franchise's history. The regular season was reduced from its usual 82 games to 48 due to a lockout. For the sixth time in franchise history, the Islanders tied their longest homestand (of seven games) – beginning on February 24 and lasting through March 9 – in which they earned three wins during that span. The Islanders qualified for the Stanley Cup playoffs for the first time since the 2006–07 NHL season. Eastern Conference (NHL)
The Eastern Conference () is one of two conferences in the National Hockey League (NHL) used to divide teams. Its counterpart is the Western Conference (NHL), Western Conference. History Originally named the Prince of Wales Conference (or Wales Conference for short), it was created in 1974–75 NHL season, 1974 when the NHL realigned its teams into two conferences and four divisions. HV71 (), often referred to as just HV, is a Swedish professional ice hockey club based in Jönköping, playing in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), the first tier of Swedish ice hockey. The team played in the 2008–09 Champions Hockey League season, and has also participated in the new Champions Hockey League tournament since the 2014–15 season. Jesse Joensuu
Jesse Matias Joensuu (born 5 October 1987) is a Finns, Finnish former professional ice hockey winger who finished his career with Porin Ässät (men's ice hockey), Porin Ässät of the SM-liiga. Joensuu served as the team's captain for the 2023–24 season. Shane Harper (born February 1, 1989) is a former American professional ice hockey player who last played with the Adirondack Thunder of the ECHL. He is the brother of model-actress Christen Harper who is married to Jared Goff of the Detroit Lions. Playing career Shane Harper grew up playing hockey in the greater Los Angeles area. As a youth, he played in the 2002 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with the Anaheim Junior Ducks minor ice hockey team. Tim Thomas (ice Hockey, Born 1974)
Timothy James Thomas Jr. (born April 15, 1974) is an American former professional ice hockey goaltender who mainly played in the National Hockey League (NHL), most notably with the Boston Bruins. He was born in Flint, Michigan and is a graduate of Davison, Michigan, Davison High School. Thomas played college hockey for the University of Vermont for four years, from 1993–1997, during which he was drafted 217th overall by the Quebec Nordiques in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. He played for several years in the minor leagues and Europe, before making it to the NHL at age 28, with the Boston Bruins. He finally emerged as the Bruins' starting goaltender at age 32. Thomas is a two-time winner of the Vezina Trophy (2008–09 NHL season, 2009 and 2010–11 NHL season, 2011) as the NHL's best goaltender, and was a member of Team USA in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. The 2012–13 Boston Bruins season was their 89th season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on November 1, 1924. The regular season was reduced from its usual 82 games to 48 due to a lockout. In the playoff, the Bruins eliminated the Pittsburgh Penguins in four games to capture the Eastern Conference championship, but lost the 2013 Stanley Cup Finals to the Western Conference playoff champion Chicago Blackhawks in six games. The 2012–13 Anaheim Ducks season was the 20th season for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise. The season was partially cancelled due to the 2012–13 NHL lockout, which ended on January 6, 2013. The 2012–13 campaign for the Ducks commenced as a shortened, 48-game season, beginning January 19 away against the Vancouver Canucks. The shortened season featured only intra-conference games.
