2012–13 Nashville Predators Season
The 2012–13 Nashville Predators season was the team's 15th season in the National Hockey League (NHL). The regular season was reduced from its usual 82 games to 48 due to the 2012–13 NHL lockout. Off-season After already losing one half of their All-Star defensive core to free agency when Ryan Suter signed with the Minnesota Wild, on July 19, 2012, Shea Weber signed an offer sheet from the Philadelphia Flyers. The Predators had seven days to decide whether to match the offer, opting to do so on July 24 to keep Weber in a Predators uniform. Regular season The Predators scored 109 goals (excluding three shootout-winning goals) over the lockout-shortened season of 48 games, tied for 30th overall with the Florida Panthers. Western Conference (NHL)
The Western Conference () is one of two conferences in the National Hockey League (NHL) used to divide teams. Its counterpart is the Eastern Conference (NHL), Eastern Conference. History Originally named the Clarence Campbell Conference (or Campbell Conference for short), it was created in 1974–75 NHL season, 1974 when the NHL realigned its teams into two conferences and four divisions. Because the new conferences and divisions had little to do with North American geography, geographical references were removed. The conferences and divisions were re-aligned in 1981–82 NHL season, 1981 to better reflect the geographical locations of the teams, but the existing names were retained with the Campbell Conference becoming the conference for the NHL's westernmost teams. Ryan Suter
Ryan Suter (born January 21, 1985) is an American professional ice hockey defenseman for the St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League (NHL). He is also the owner of the Madison Capitols of the United States Hockey League (USHL). He has previously played for the Nashville Predators, Minnesota Wild, and Dallas Stars. Internationally, Suter has represented the U.S. national team at the 2010 Winter Olympics. Suter was born into an athletic family as his father, Bob Suter, was a member of the historic gold medal-winning 1980 United States Olympic hockey team that defeated the Soviet Union in the famous "Miracle on Ice" game. Sébastien Caron , born on June 25, 1980, is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender who played in the National Hockey League (NHL). He last played for the defunct Hamburg Freezers of the then Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). Playing career As a youth, Caron played in the 1993 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from Matapédia, Quebec. Caron was a third-round pick, 86th overall, by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. During the 2005-06 season, in a game against the Philadelphia Flyers, Caron gained national attention through his great save against Brian Savage. Kyle Wilson (ice Hockey)
Kyle Wilson (born December 15, 1984) is a Canadian former professional Ice hockey centre who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Washington Capitals, Columbus Blue Jackets and the Nashville Predators. Wilson played collegiate hockey for Colgate University, where he received a bachelor's degree in physics. Playing career Kyle Wilson was selected in the ninth round, 272nd overall, by the Minnesota Wild in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut in 2009–10 season with the Washington Capitals where he scored 2 assists in 2 games and finished with a +1 rating. Anders Lindbäck (born 3 May 1988) is a Sweden, Swedish professional ice hockey goaltender who currently plays for Färjestad BK in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). He has previously played for the Nashville Predators, Tampa Bay Lightning, Dallas Stars, Buffalo Sabres and Arizona Coyotes in the National Hockey League (NHL). 2012–13 Tampa Bay Lightning Season
The 2012–13 Tampa Bay Lightning season was the franchise's list of Tampa Bay Lightning seasons, 21st season in the National Hockey League (NHL). The regular season was reduced from its usual 82 games to 48 due to the 2012–13 NHL lockout. As of 2025, this is the most recent season that the Lightning finished with a losing record. Regular season The Lightning began the season with one of the best starts in franchise history, earning a 6–1–0 record. However, after that seventh game, the team went 7–16–1, falling to 14th out of 15 teams in the Eastern Conference. This prompted general manager Steve Yzerman to fire head coach Guy Boucher on March 24, 2013 after a 5-3 loss to the Ottawa Senators(who he would eventually end up coaching).
