2012–13 NBB Season
The 2012–13 NBB season was the fifth edition of Novo Basquete Brasil, the Brazilian basketball league. This tournament is organized entirely by the Liga Nacional de Basquete (LNB). The NBB serves as a qualifying competition for international tournaments such as Liga Sudamericana and Torneo InterLigas. For this season the qualify for the FIBA Americas League came to be through the Liga Sudamericana. This season has a record number of participating teams, with eighteen teams playing each other in round and second round in the regular season. At the end of two rounds the top four teams qualify for the quarterfinals of the playoffs automatically, while the teams finishing in the 5th and 12th place participated in the first round of the playoffs to determine the other four teams in the quarterfinals, best of five matches, advances to the next phase who win three games. Novo Basquete Brasil
Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB; English: New Basketball Brazil) is the Brazilian premier professional men's basketball league. It is organized by the Liga Nacional de Basquete (LNB; English: National Basketball League), in a new format of Brazil's previous top-tier level basketball competition, the Campeonato Brasileiro de Basquete (Brazilian Basketball Championship). The NBB is managed by the Brazilian basketball associations, which were founding members of the LNB. Format The NBB is the annual basketball league that is promoted by the national Brazilian league (LNB) organizing body, and is endorsed by the Brazilian Basketball Confederation (CFB). The first phase of the season consists of fifteen teams playing against each other, on a home and away basis. Ginásio Pedrocão
The Ginásio Pedrocão (Ginásio Poliesportivo Pedro Morilla Fuentes) is an indoor arena and the home of Franca Basketball Club in the NBB. It was established in 1975 and renamed "Pedrocão" in 1996 to honor coach and team idol Pedro Morilla Fuentes (Pedroca) who led the team from 1959 to 1981. Franca is a municipality in the state of São Paulo, Brazil.
