2012–13 Liga EBA Season
The 2012–13 Liga EBA season is the 19th edition of the Liga EBA. This is the fourth division of Spanish basketball. Four teams will be promoted to LEB Plata. The regular season will start in October 2012 and will finish in March 2013. Promotion playoffs to LEB Plata will be in April 2012. Format Regular season Teams are divided in five groups by geographical criteria. Group A is also divided in two: *Sub-group A-A: Cantabria, Basque Country, La Rioja and Castile and León (except Zamora teams). *Sub-group A-B: Galicia, Asturias and Zamora. *Group B: Community of Madrid, Castile-La Mancha and Canary Islands. *Group C: Catalonia and Aragón. *Group D: Andalusia, Extremadura and Melilla. *Group E: Valencian Community, Region of Murcia and Balearic Islands. Liga EBA
Liga Española de Baloncesto Aficionado (EBA), commonly known as Liga EBA, is a Spanish basketball championship that is the fourth tier level in the Spanish basketball league system, after the Liga ACB, LEB Oro, and LEB Plata. It is administered by the FEB. It was previously the Spanish second tier level competition from 1994 to 1996, the third tier level from 1996 to 2000, and the fifth tier level, from 2007 to 2009. The Liga EBA is made up of five inter-regional groups. After the regular season, sixteen teams advance to the playoffs, where only four teams are promoted to the LEB Plata. Xuventude Baloncesto
Club Xuventude Baloncesto is a basketball team based in Cambados, Galicia (Spain). The team currently plays in league LEB Plata. History Xuventude Cambados was founded by a group of friends in 1976. In 1999, Xuven promoted to Liga EBA, where it played four seasons before being relegated to Primera División. In 2009, the club came back to Liga EBA and in 2011 it qualified for the promotion playoffs to LEB Plata where, despite completing a 28–2 record in the regular season, it failed in the playoffs after losing in the finals to CE Sant Nicolau. In its second attempt, Xuven clinched the All-Liga EBA title after ending the whole season with a 21–2 record, thus promoting to LEB Plata. Agrupación de Baloncesto Pas, also known as Pas Piélagos, is a basketball team based in Renedo de Piélagos, Cantabria, Spain, who currently plays in Liga EBA. History AB Pas was founded in 1979 in Castañeda, Cantabria. In the 1983–84 season, Pas becomes runner-up of 1ª Autonómica League and promotes to the lowest national leagues. In 1991, the team goes to Renedo de Piélagos, where nowadays continue playing. CB Tormes
Club Baloncesto Tormes is a Spanish professional basketball club based in Salamanca, Castile and León that currently plays in Liga EBA, the fourth tier of Spanish basketball. History CB Tormes was founded in March 2000, after splitting from UD Santa Marta, that created the basketball section in 1998. In their first half season as independent team, the club promoted to Liga EBA, where it played two seasons before resigning to the place in the league. In the second one, CB Tormes reached the last stage of the promotion playoffs to LEB Plata, but could not achieve the promotion after losing by 30 against CB Aracena. Club Basket Burgos 2002, also known by sponsorship reasons as Grupo de Automoción Santiago, was a basketball team based in Burgos, Castile and Lion, Spain, who currently plays in Liga EBA. History Basket Burgos 2002 was founded in that year with the aim of playing in the Provincial League of Burgos, that works independently of the Spanish league system. On 2010, after being relegated CD Juventud del Círculo from Liga EBA to 1ª División, some players and the coach of the team decided to create a Primera División team of Basket Burgos 2002. The Primera División de Baloncesto is the fifth level in the Spanish basketball league system. Current format The Primera División works similar to the Tercera División of Spanish football. It is divided into fourteen groups, corresponding to the Autonomous communities of Spain excepting two of the groups: one that is shared by Basque Country, La Rioja and Navarra.
