The 2012–13 Korisliiga season was the 73rd season of the Finnish national championship named Korisliiga, the highest professional basketball league in Finland. 2011–12 Korisliiga Season
The Korisliiga 2011-2012 regular season started in September 2011. Nilan Bisons Loimaa eventually won its first national championship, by beating Kataja Basket Club, Joensuun Kataja 3–1 in the Finals. Korisliiga
The Korisliiga is the top-tier professional basketball league in Finland, comprising the top 12 teams of the country. In its current format, each team plays all other teams two times in the regular season, once at home and once away, for a total of 22 regular season games. The top six teams advances continues to upper stage and the bottom six teams plays lower stage after 22 games, 5 games at home and 5 games at away versus all other teams in stage. The best two teams from lower group joins to playoffs with upper group teams. Playoffs are played best of seven format, except the quarter-finals which are played best of 5 format. Pantterit holds the record for the most league titles won, with 14. The top level Finnish league for women is the Naisten Korisliiga. Namika Lahti
Namika Lahti was a basketball club based in Lahti, Finland. The club played in the Korisliiga, the top Finnish championship league. The club was established in 1898 in Vyborg and moved to Lahti in 1947. In 2015, the club was dissolved, after economic problems. Name and history "Namika" is a nickname for NMKY, meaning YMCA. Kobrat is a Finnish professional basketball team from Lapua. The team plays in Korisliiga, the highest tier of Finnish basketball. History The club was founded in 1989 as 'Lapuan Koripojat', shortly 'LaKoPo', but was renamed 'Korikobrat' in 2000. The team is playing in the Korisliiga league since the 2012–13 season. Salon Vilpas is a professional basketball club based in Salo, Finland. The team currently plays in the top level Korisliiga. The Vikings are a part of the Salon Vilpas multi-sport club. Lappeenrannan NMKY
Lappeenrannan NMKY (also known as LrNMKY for short or as Team Lappeenranta in European competitions) is a basketball club based in a city of Lappeenranta, Finland. It was formed in 1951 as a Young Men's Christian Association (NMKY in Finnish) and has won two Finnish Championships (2005, 2006) and two Finnish Cups (2005, 2006). Team Lappeenranta participated in Fiba EuroCup challenge in 2005/2006 finishing in semi-finals. In 2007/2008 season team is willing to make another run in Europe, this time in FIBA EuroChallenge, EuroCup. After the 2013–14 season, NMKY left the Korisliiga because of financial problems. Tampereen Pyrintö ry is a Finland, Finnish Sports club, multi-sport club from Tampere. Pyrintö representatives have achieved several Olympic medals and other success. Nilan Bisons
LoKoKo Bisons Loimaa is a Finland, Finnish professional basketball club that is based in Loimaa. History The club was established in 1964 as Loimaan Korikonkarit. The team was renamed Bisons after it was promoted to the Korisliiga in 2011. The team won the Korisliiga, Finnish league championship in its first season in the league. Bisons won the championship once again in 2013, and qualified to play in European professional club basketball system, Europe's 2nd-tier competition, the Eurocup Basketball, Eurocup, during the 2013–14 Eurocup Basketball, Eurocup 2013–14 season. On 31 May 2016, Bisons Loimaa announced it will not participate in the top Finnish league due to financial problems and would join the second division.
