The 2012–13 season was 126th season of Cheltenham Town's existence, and their 13th in the Football League since promotion from the Football Conference, Conference National in 2000. Cheltenham's first game of the 2012–13 season was at home to Milton Keynes Dons F.C., Milton Keynes Dons in the Football League Cup, League Cup, before then hosting Dagenham and Redbridge F.C., Dagenham and Redbridge in their first Football League Two, League Two match of the season on 18 August 2012. Cheltenham were in contention for automatic promotion until the final day of the season, but ultimately finished 5th and had to settle for the playoffs, in which they lost 2–0 on aggregate to Northampton Town F.C., Northampton Town. Mark Yates (footballer)
Mark Jason Yates (born 24 January 1970) is an English former professional association football, footballer and manager, most recently for Stourbridge F.C., Stourbridge. As a player, he played primarily in a central midfielder, midfield role. Playing career Born in Birmingham, Yates began his football career as a trainee at hometown club Birmingham City F.C., Birmingham City, before going on to sign professional terms with the club in 1988. He spent a total of three seasons at St Andrew's (stadium), St Andrew's, making 66 first team appearances, including one in the side that won the 1991 Football League Trophy. In 1991 Yates was sold to Burnley F.C., Burnley for £40,000 but struggled to hold down a regular position. Scott Brown (footballer Born April 1985)
Scott Peter Andrew Brown (born 26 April 1985) is an English former football player who played as a goalkeeper. Brown spent the early part of his career with Wolverhampton Wanderers, Welshpool Town and Bristol City before making his debut in the English Football League with Cheltenham Town in January 2006. He established himself as the club's first-choice goalkeeper by the 2008–09 season and stayed with Cheltenham until May 2014, playing a total of 282 games for the club, including an appearance at Wembley Stadium in the 2012 League Two play-off final, which ended in a 2–0 defeat to Crewe Alexandra. He was voted Cheltenham Town's Player of the Year for the 2012–13 season. He signed with Aberdeen in May 2014 and helped the club to finish as runners-up in the Scottish Premiership in both the 2014–15 and 2015–16 campaigns.
