The 2012 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix was a women's tennis tournament played on indoor clay courts. It was the 35th edition of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, and was part of the Premier tournaments of the 2012 WTA Tour. It took place at the Porsche Arena in Stuttgart, Germany, from 23 April until 29 April 2012. Second-seeded Maria Sharapova won the singles title. Finals Singles Maria Sharapova defeated. WTA Premier Tournaments
WTA Premier tournaments was a category of tennis tournaments in the Women's Tennis Association, WTA Tour, implemented from the reorganization of the schedule in 2009 until 2020. In 2020, Premier events included: * Four "Premier Mandatory" events in Indian Wells, Miami, Madrid, and Beijing with prize money of $4.5 million. * Five "Premier 5" events in Doha, Rome, Cincinnati, Toronto/Montreal, and Wuhan with prize money of $2 million. * Twelve "Premier" events with prize money of $600,000 to $1,000,000. The ranking points awarded to the winners of these tournaments are: * "Premier Mandatory" 1000 * "Premier 5" 900 and * "Premier" 470. This compares to 2,000 points for winning a Grand Slam Tournament ("major"), up to 1,500 points for winning the WTA Finals, and 280 for winning an WTA International tournaments, International tournament. Marion Bartoli
Marion Bartoli (; born 2 October 1984) is a French former professional tennis player. Bartoli won the 2013 Wimbledon Championships – Women's singles, 2013 Wimbledon Championships singles title, after previously being runner-up in 2007 Wimbledon Championships – Women's singles, 2007, and was a semifinalist at the 2011 French Open – Women's singles, 2011 French Open. She also won seven singles and three doubles titles on the WTA Tour. Bartoli was known for her unorthodox style of play, using both hands on her forehand and backhand. Sabine Katharina Lisicki (; born 22 September 1989) is a German inactive professional tennis player. Daniela Hantuchová (; born 23 April 1983) is a Slovak tennis commentator and retired player. Akgul Charievna Amanmuradova (; born June 23, 1984) is an inactive professional tennis player from Uzbekistan. At 1.90 metres in height, she is one of the tallest female tennis players in history. Amanmuradova has won two doubles titles on the WTA Tour, as well as ten singles and 16 doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit. On 26 May 2008, she reached her best singles ranking of world No. 50. Anna Djambuliovna Chakvetadze ( ; born 5 March 1987) is a Russian former professional tennis player. In her career, Chakvetadze won eight WTA Tour singles titles. Gréta Arn (born 13 April 1979) is a Hungarian former professional tennis player of Danube Swabian Germans, German descent.
