2012–13 PBA Season
The 2012–13 PBA season was the 38th season of the Philippine Basketball Association. The season formally opened on September 30, 2012, and finished October 25, 2013. This was the longest in PBA history with 13-month span. The season continued to use the three-conference format, starting with the PBA Philippine Cup, Philippine Cup, or the traditional All-Filipino Conference. The mid season PBA Commissioner's Cup, Commissioner's Cup will continue to feature unlimited height limit for imports. The last conference of the season, the PBA Governor's Cup, Governors' Cup will have imports with a 6'5" height limit. PBA On Sports5
The PBA on One Sports is the branding for presentation of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) games which started since the 2011-12 season. Telecasts are produced by One Sports (formerly Sports5 and ESPN5), the sports division of TV5 Network Inc., and aired through One Sports and PBA Rush, with simulcast and livestreaming on Cignal Play, Pilipinas Live and Smart LiveStream. Also, there is a separate coverage in English commentary on PBA Rush since July 15, 2016. TV5, formerly known as Associated Broadcasting Company (ABC), previously handled the coverage of the games from 2004 to 2008. PBA Philippine Cup
The PBA Philippine Cup is one of three active conferences in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). In this conference, only Filipino players and players of Filipino descent can compete, meaning that imports are not allowed. Before the 2004–05 season, the tournament was known as the PBA All-Filipino Cup. It is considered the most prestigious of the three conferences in a PBA season. Since the 2006–07 season, the champions of the Philippine Cup are awarded the Jun Bernardino Trophy, named after former PBA commissioner Jun Bernardino, which they get to keep possession of until the next Philippine Cup champion is crowned. Ginebra San Miguel, Inc. (; GSMI), formerly La Tondeña Distillers, Inc., is a Philippines-based diversified beverage company majority-owned by San Miguel Food and Beverage, Inc. Barako Bull Energy
The Barako Bull Energy were a Philippine Basketball Association that began in 2002 as the FedEx Express. From its first season until 2005, the team was dubbed as the FedEx Express before changing to Air21 Express. From the 2009 PBA Fiesta Conference until the 2009–10 PBA Philippine Cup, it became known as the Burger King Titans. However, when manager Mikee Romero decided to pull out of the team, they were reorganized and renamed the Burger King Whoppers before returning to their original name starting the 2010 PBA Fiesta Conference. However, Air21 changed its name to Barako Bull Energy after the Lina Group bought the original Barako Bull franchise and 49 percent stake of Energy Food and Drinks Inc., the owner of the Barako Bull franchise and the exclusive distributor of Red Bull Energy Drink products in the Philippines. Richard Bachmann
Richard "Dickie" Bachmann (born January 11, 1968) is a Filipino sports executive and former basketball player who serves as the chairman of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC). Education Bachmann attended De La Salle University from 1986 to 1991 graduating with a degree in commerce. Career Playing career Bachmann also played for the Green Archers, the De La Salle University's varsity team when he was in college. He was also part of the Alaska Milkmen of the Philippine Basketball Association. He joined the team in the 1993 PBA Draft at age of 25. Coaching career Bachmann served as an assistant for the Milkmen with Jun Reyes in 1998 to 1999 as playing assistants. In 2000, they became full-time assistants. Joaquin Trillo
Joaquin "Joaqui" Llamas Trillo is a Filipino former basketball coach and executive formerly served on Alaska Aces. Career Early career Trillo played for La Salle under Tito Eduque. He coached the team from 1978 (they are still in NCAA) until 1986. Alaska In 1990, Fred Uytengsu hired Trillo as the manager of Alaska Air Force. Together with Tim Cone, they won multiple championship, including a Grand Slam in 1996. After Cone left Alaska, Trillo was promoted as Governor of the team in 2012 until 2014. Alaska Milk Corporation (AMC; formerly Holland Milk Products, Inc.), commonly known as Alaska (stylized in all caps), is a Philippine dairy company headquartered in Makati. Air21 Express (2012–2014)
The Air21 Express was a professional basketball team in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) that debuted in the 2011–12 PBA season, 2011–12 season. The team debuted as the Shopinas.com Clickers during the 2011–12 PBA Philippine Cup. Eli Capacio
Eliezer "Ely" O. Capacio (March 14, 1955 – February 23, 2014) was a Filipino basketball player, coach and executive. Born in Palo, Leyte, Philippines, he played a total of eight seasons as a forward-center for the Tanduay Rhum Makers from 1979 to 1986, averaging 5.9 points and 5.5 rebounds in a total of 324 games. The team won two championships during the 1986 PBA season. His younger brother, Glenn Capacio also played in the PBA. Amateur career The 6-4 center-forward was a veteran of the 1975 and 1977 Asian Basketball Confederation (ABC) championships and the 1977 SEA games. Capacio was a member of the MICAA mythical selection in 1976 and was part of the YCO Painters champion team in 1979, before joining the pro ranks. Chito Salud
Angelico Tiu Salud (born June 17, 1962), better known as Chito Salud, is a Filipino lawyer and sports executive who currently serves as team governor of the Converge Fiber Xers in PBA. He was the first president and CEO of the Philippine Basketball Association and previously served as its eighth commissioner. He is the son of Rudy Salud, who was the commissioner of the PBA from 1988 to 1992.
