2011–12 United Football League (Philippines)
The 2012 United Football League was the third season of the UFL since its establishment as a semi-professional league in 2009. Global FC won their first Division 1 league title on goal difference against runners-up Kaya, after a 1–1 draw with third-placers Loyola Meralco Sparks on 26 June 2012. Pachanga won the Division 2 league title after being unbeaten in all its matches. Teams Seven new clubs entered the league after the successful third season of UFL Cup. Manila Nomads, Stallion and Pasargad was promoted to 2012 UFL Division 1 after they reached the knockout stage of 2011 UFL Cup. The season opened on January 14, 2012, and ended on June 30, 2012. 2011 UFL Cup
The 2011 United Football Cup was the third edition of the United Football Cup that ran from mid-October to mid-December 2011. This edition consisted of 28 teams which were separated into seven groups with the top two teams of the group advancing to the round of 16. The two best third placed teams claimed the remaining two slots in the round of 16. In the previous year the clubs were initially separated into four equal groups, with a single round-robin played in each to divide the groups into top-two and bottom-two clusters. The top two of every group qualified for the knock-out stage while the bottom-two clubs of each set battled for the Plate. The eight teams who made it to the knock-out stages were given the right of playing in the league first division while teams who played for the Plate proceeded to the league second division. Esmaeil Sedigh is an Iranian futsal coach and instructor. He was a former football player in U21 1st division in Iran. He has held the position of futsal department director under the Philippine Football Federation. Sedigh is known for his contributions in the development of Philippines national futsal team. James Younghusband
James Joseph Younghusband (born 4 September 1986) is a former professional footballer who played mostly as a right midfielder and sometimes as a forward. Born in Surrey, England to an English father and Filipino mother, Younghusband played for the youth team of Chelsea. Alexander Charles Luis "Aly" Borromeo (born 28 June 1983) is a former American-born Filipino footballer who played as a defender. He played for the Philippines national team. Club career Borromeo joined Kaya in 1999, and has been the captain of the first team for several years during his tenure.
