2011–12 UCI America Tour
The 2011–12 UCI America Tour was the eighth season for the UCI America Tour. The season began on 2 October 2011 with the Tobago Cycling Classic and ended on 15 September 2012 with the Univest Grand Prix. The points leader, based on the cumulative results of previous races, wears the UCI America Tour cycling jersey. Miguel Ubeto from Venezuela was the defending champion of the 2010–11 UCI America Tour. Rory Sutherland (cyclist), Rory Sutherland from Australia was crowned as the 2011–12 UCI America Tour champion. Throughout the season, points are awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. The quality and complexity of a race also determines how many points are awarded to the top finishers, the higher the UCI rating of a race, the more points are awarded. UCI America Tour
The UCI Continental Circuits are a series of road bicycle racing competitions which were introduced in 2005 by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) to expand cycling around the world. The five circuits (representing the continents of Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceania) are ranked below the UCI World Tour. UCI Africa Tour Winners There is a rolling ranking for individuals and countries (the total of the top eight ranked riders of the nation), for which points can be won in all UCI road events, regardless of where the races take place. Prior to 2019 there was also a team ranking, and in all three categories points were earned in continental races of category HC or below (1.1 and 2.1 or below from 2020) that took place in Africa, regardless of the nationality of the rider. Lotería Del Táchira
''Lotería'' (Spanish word meaning "lottery") is a traditional Mexican board game of chance, similar to bingo, but played with a deck of cards instead of numbered balls. Each card has an image of an everyday object, its name, and a number, although the number is usually ignored. Each player has at least one ', a board with a randomly created 4 × 4 grid selected from the card images. Players choose a ''tabla'' ("board") to play with, from a variety of previously created ', each with a different selection of images. The traditional ''Lotería'' card deck is composed of 54 different cards, each with a different picture. To start the game, the caller (''cantor'', "singer") shuffles the deck. One by one, the caller picks a card from the deck and announces it to the players by its name, sometimes using a verse before reading the card name. The Vuelta ciclista al Táchira (''English'': Tour of Táchira) is a multi-day road bicycle racing stage race held annually each January since 1966 in the state of Táchira (state), Táchira in western Venezuela. The Vuelta al Táchira is part of the UCI America Tour, which is one of six UCI Continental Circuits sponsored by the Union Cycliste Internationale, which is the sport's international governing body, and the Venezuelan Cycling Federation. The Copa América de Ciclismo is a single-day road bicycle racing event held in Brazil. From 2001 to 2007 and in 2009 it took place at Autódromo José Carlos Pace, in São Paulo.
