2011–12 National Premier League
The 2011–12 Red Stripe Premier League was the highest competitive football league in Jamaica. It was the 38th edition of the competition. The season began in August 2011 and was completed in May 2012. The teams played each other 3 times each then the final 5 games was played amongst the top 6 and bottom 6; making it a total of 38 games each. Tivoli Gardens were the defending champions, having won their fifth Jamaican championship the prior season. Teams St. George's and Benfica finished 11th and 12th at the end of last season and both were relegated to the Eastern Confederation Super League. Taking their places in the league this season are Highgate United, champions of the Eastern Confederation Super League, and Montego Bay United, champions of the Western Confederation Super League, which were the best two clubs in last season's second level promotion playoffs. The Jamaica Premier League (formerly the National Premier League), commonly abbreviated as JPL and officially known as the Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League for sponsorship reasons, is sanctioned by the Jamaican Football Federation as the top division for men's association football in Jamaica. Contested between 14 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the JFF Championship. Most games are played on Sunday afternoons and Monday evenings ''(Monday Night Football)''. Sporting Central Academy or otherwise known simply as Sporting is a Jamaican Football (soccer), football club based in the Clarendon Parish, Jamaica, Clarendon, Jamaica. Sporting Central plays in Clarendon Major League, the third tier of Jamaican football. History After the collapse of Galaxy F.C. (Jamaica), Galaxy F.C., Brandon Murray and Chris Dawes decided to start a new club in Clarendon to take the parish' place at Jamaica's top tier and in 2000 Sporting Central Academy was formed. They play their home games at Murray's farm, a few miles down the road from May Pen. They finally clinched promotion to the top level in June 2007, under former managers Chris Dawes (Jamaican footballer), Chris Dawes and Kevin Williams, and are the first team from Clarendon to compete there, since Hazard United's move to Saint Catherine Parish, St Catherine in 2003. Neider Dos Santos
Neider dos Santos (born 1964/1965) is a Brazilian football coach who manages Jamaican club Montego Bay United. Career Dos Santos started his managerial career with the Vasco da Gama youth teams. He has previously managed Simba SC in Tanzania, as well as the youth teams of Brazilian clubs Vasco da Gama and Botafogo, plus the national teams of Cayman Islands and Guyana. Dos Santos took over as manager of Jamaican club Village United in late 2010, having spent the previous four years as manager of the Bahamas national team. After leaving Jamaican club Village United in early 2011, Dos Santos was hired by newly promoted Montego Bay United in October 2011. By September 2012 he was the club's Technical Director.
