2011–12 Japan Figure Skating Championships
The 2011–12 Japan Figure Skating Championships took place on 23–26 December 2011 at the Towa Pharmaceutical Ractab Dome, Namihaya Dome in Kadoma, Osaka. It was the 80th edition of the event. Skaters competed in the disciplines of single skating, men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing on the senior level for the title of national champion of Japan. Results Men Ladies The ladies' free skating attracted television ratings of 26.7% in the Tokyo and Osaka regions, and 29.9% in Nagoya, peaking at 40.0% before Asada's score was announced. The 2011–2012 figure skating season began on July 1, 2011, and ends on June 30, 2012. Japan Figure Skating Championships
The Japan Figure Skating Championships () are an annual figure skating competition organised by the Japan Skating Federation to crown the national champions of Japan. Medals are awarded in men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance at the senior level, although not every discipline is held every year due to a lack of participants. Junior-level skaters compete at the Japan Junior Figure Skating Championships. Shoma Uno
is a retired Japanese figure skater. He is a three-time Olympic medalist ( 2018 silver, 2022 bronze, 2022 team silver), a two-time World champion (2022, 2023), and a two-time World silver medalist (2018, 2017). Kento Nakamura
is a Japanese former competitive figure skater. He is the 2011 NRW Trophy bronze medalist, the 2013 Bavarian Open silver medalist, a two-time medalist on the ISU Junior Grand Prix series, and the 2011 Japan junior national champion. Career Nakamura began skating at age 7. He debuted on the ISU Junior Grand Prix (JGP) series in 2007. In 2009, he won medals at both of his JGP assignments — silver in the United States and bronze in Turkey. His results qualified him for the ISU Junior Grand Prix Final, where he finished eighth. Keiji Tanaka
is a retired Japanese figure skater. He is the 2016 NHK Trophy bronze medalist, 2019 Skate Canada bronze medalist, three-time ISU Challenger Series medalist (including gold at the 2019 U.S. Classic), 2017 Winter Universiade silver medalist, 2011 World Junior silver medalist, six-time medalist on the ISU Junior Grand Prix, and a two-time Japanese national silver medalist (2016, 2017). Daisuke Murakami (figure Skater)
is a Japanese figure skater. He is the 2014 NHK Trophy champion, 2011 Ondrej Nepela Memorial champion, and 2009 Japan Junior bronze medalist. Takahito Mura
is a Japanese former competitive figure skater. He is the 2014 Four Continents champion, 2014 Skate Canada International champion, and 2012 Trophée Éric Bompard champion. (born March 9, 1990) is a Japanese retired figure skater. He is the 2014 World silver medalist, the 2010 Four Continents silver medalist, and the 2013–14 Japanese national silver medalist. Machida is the winner of four Grand Prix events — the 2012 Cup of China, 2013 Skate America, 2013 Rostelecom Cup, and 2014 Skate America. Takahiko Kozuka
is a former competitive Japanese figure skater. He is the 2011 World silver medalist, a two-time Grand Prix Final medalist, a two-time Four Continents medalist, and the 2010–11 Japanese national champion. The free skating segment of figure skating, also called the free skate and the long program, is the second of two segments of competitions, skated after the short program. The short program of figure skating is the first of two segments of competitions, skated before the free skating program.
