2011–12 All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship
The 2011–12 All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship was the 42nd staging of the All-Ireland hurling club championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1970. The draw for the 2011-12 fixtures took place in August 2011. The championship began on 9 October 2011 and ended on 17 March 2012. Clarinbridge were the defending champions, however, they did not qualify for the championship. Loughgiel Shamrocks secured the title with a 4-13 to 0-17 defeat of Coolderry in the All-Ireland final. This was their second All-Ireland title. Teams A total of fifteen teams contested the championship, including all of the teams from the 2010–11. The Armagh champions did not participate. Ken Hogan
James Kenneth Hogan (born 1 May 1963) is an Irish former hurler who played as a goalkeeper at senior level for the Tipperary county team. Born in Lorrha, County Tipperary, Hogan first played competitive hurling whilst at school at the Presentation College, Birr. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Tipperary minor team, before later joining the under-21 team. He joined the senior team during the 1986 championship. Hogan went on to win two All-Ireland medals, five Munster medals and one National Hurling League medal. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. As a member of the Munster inter-provincial team on a number of occasions throughout his career, however, Hogan never won a Railway Cup medal. Dublin Senior Hurling Championship
The Dublin Senior Hurling Championship () is an annual hurling competition organised by the Dublin County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) since 1887 for the top hurling clubs in County Dublin, Ireland. Sixteen clubs compete. Initially the teams are divided into four groups of four with the group matches being played from April to May with a break to accommodate the All-Ireland Championship and resume during August or September. The group stage is followed by a knock-out phase which takes place during the months of October and November. Sponsored by Go-Ahead, it is therefore officially known as the Go-Ahead Dublin Senior Hurling Championship. Since the establishment of the Dublin Senior Hurling Championship in 1887, a total of 26 clubs have won the tournament. Faughs have been the most successful club having won 31 titles. Laois Senior Hurling Championship
The Laois Senior Hurling Championship is an annual hurling competition contested by top-tier Laois GAA clubs. The Laois County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association has organised it since 1888. Clough–Ballacolla are the title holders, defeating Rathdowney–Errill by 2-22 to 0-22 in the 2024 final. Honours The trophy presented to the winners is the Bob O'Keefe Cup. The winners of the Laois Senior Championship qualify to represent their county in the Leinster Senior Club Hurling Championship. The Westmeath Senior Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as Slevin Coaches Senior Hurling Championship and abbreviated to the Westmeath SHC) is an annual hurling competition organized by the Westmeath County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the top-ranking senior clubs in the county of Westmeath in Ireland. Shane O'Sullivan (hurler)
Shane O'Sullivan (born 5 November 1985) is an Irish hurler who plays as a midfielder for the Waterford senior team. O'Sullivan joined the team during the 2004 National League and immediately became a regular member of the starting fifteen. Since then he has won two Munster medals and one National Hurling League medal. O'Sullivan has ended up as an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. Ballygunner GAA (nicknamed "The Gunners") is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club located in the parish of St Mary's Ballygunner in Waterford City, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. Gary Savage (hurler)
Gary Savage (born 1970 in Ballycran, County Down) is an Irish sportsman. He played hurling with his local club Ballycran and was a member of the Down senior county team from the 1990s until the 2000s. Playing career Club Savage played his hurling with his local club in Ballycran and enjoyed much success. He first came to prominence on the club’s senior team in the late 1980s, however, Ballycran were going through a hugely unsuccessful period at the time, after losing five county finals in-a-row. Savage won his first county senior championship winners’ medal in 1993, following a defeat of Ballygalget. He later lined out in the Ulster club final with Cushendall providing the opposition.
