2011 Ringgold–Apison Tornado
In the evening hours of April 27, 2011, a violent and long-tracked Multiple-vortex tornado, multi-vortex tornado impacted several communities along a path through northern Georgia (U.S. state), Georgia and southeast Tennessee, including Ringgold, Georgia, Apison, Tennessee and Cleveland, Tennessee. The tornado, which was on the ground for 52 minutes and became known as the Ringgold–Apison tornado or The Monster, killed over twenty people while having windspeeds that were estimated to have been as high as . The tornado was part of 2011 Super Outbreak, the largest outbreak of tornadoes in recorded history, and was the deadliest to hit Georgia during the outbreak. Ringgold is a city in and the county seat of Catoosa County, Georgia, United States. Its population was 3,414 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Chattanooga metropolitan area. Jackson Lake (Georgia)
Jackson Lake is one of the oldest reservoirs in Georgia, United States, southeast of Atlanta in a rural area situated within parts of three counties (Jasper, Newton and Butts).
