2011 HTC–Highroad Season
The 2011 season for began in January at the 2011 Tour Down Under, Tour Down Under and ended in October at the Chrono des Nations. As a UCI ProTeam, they were automatically invited and obligated to send a squad to every event in the 2011 UCI World Tour, UCI World Tour. This was the team's final season, as they failed to secure a new title sponsor. As they had been in previous years, HTC-Highroad was again the most successful team in 2011, claiming 47 victories. Among them were six stage wins at the 2011 Tour de France, Tour de France, including five by Mark Cavendish. While Cavendish had won no fewer than four stages in each of the previous four Tours, the 2011 Tour was the first in which he won the points classification in the Tour de France, points classification green jersey. Bob Stapleton (born April 1, 1958, in Riverside, California) is an American entrepreneur and the former team owner of cycling team . Stapleton was previously the team manager of when it was known as . The transition to owner occurred on November 28, 2007 when German telecom company Deutsche Telekom ended its sponsorship after numerous doping allegations surfaced throughout 2007. Stapleton began his relationship with T-Mobile when his communications company VoiceStream Wireless was bought in 2000 by Deutsche Telekom for $50 billion. Team Time Trial
A team time trial (TTT) is a road bicycle race in which teams of cyclists race against the clock (see individual time trial for a more detailed description of ITT events). The winning team in a TTT is determined by the comparing the times of (usually) the fourth-finishing rider in each team (though the relevant finish position can be otherwise specified in advance by the race organisers). This means that each team will try to get their first four (at least) riders across the finish line in a tight group: it is actually a disadvantage for any rider to finish far in advance of the fourth rider, as by staying back a faster rider can help the fourth rider to get a quicker time. Craig Lewis (cyclist)
Craig Lewis (born January 10, 1985) is an American former professional road bicycle racer, who competed professionally between 2007 and 2013. In 2004, while riding for – then a small team on the US circuit that would later grow to be one of the world's biggest, currently known as – Lewis was gravely injured when he was struck by a car during an individual time trial at the Tour de Georgia. He lost consciousness, punctured both lungs, suffered severe internal bleeding, and fractured dozens of bones. After months of rehab and physical therapy, and multiple surgeries, Lewis eventually made a full recovery. After failing to earn a contract for the 2014 season, Lewis retired in February 2014. Leigh Howard
Leigh Howard (born 18 October 1989) is an Australian professional racing cyclist. He qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in both the Men's Madison and Men's Team Pursuit. Howard was part of the Men's team pursuit together with Kelland O'Brien, Sam Weisford and Alexander Porter. They secured a bronze medal after overlapping New Zealand who had crashed. Howard also competed in the Men's Madison where the team finished fifth with a time of 3:48.448 and therefore did not qualify for the final. Bert Grabsch
Bert Grabsch (born 19 June 1975) is a German former road bicycle racer, who raced as a professional between 1999 and 2013. He was born in Wittenberg and is the younger brother of fellow road racing cyclist Ralf Grabsch. He is a former UCI time trial world champion, having won the title in Varese, Italy on 25 September 2008. He competed at the Cycling at the 2008 Summer Olympics, 2008 Beijing Olympic Games in the Individual Road Race, which he did not finish, and Individual Time Trial, where he finished thirteenth. In the same events at the 2012 Summer Olympics, he finished 95th in the road race and 8th in the time trial. Grabsch retired at the end of the 2013 season, after fifteen years as a professional. Matthew Martin Brammeier (born 7 June 1985) is a former professional cyclist, who competed professionally between 2006 and 2018 for nine different professional teams. Upon retiring, Brammeier became a coach for British Cycling. He won five titles at the Irish National Cycling Championships, winning the road race four times and the time trial once. Career Born in Liverpool, Brammeier was selected to ride the 2003 UCI Track Cycling World Championships and represented Wales at the 2006 Commonwealth Games.
