2011 CollegeInsider.com Tournament
The 2011 CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament (CIT) was a postseason single-elimination tournament of 24 NCAA Division I teams. The CIT began with 12 first-round games. Four of the teams that won first-round games advanced to the quarterfinals, while the other eight teams played for the right to advance to the quarterfinals in the second round March 18–19. The announcement of the 2011 field was made on March 13, 2011. Twenty-three of the participants were selected from teams that were not invited to the 2011 NCAA Tournament or the 2011 National Invitation Tournament. The winner of the 2011 Great West Conference men's basketball tournament, North Dakota, received an automatic bid to the CIT. The tournament was won by Santa Clara who defeated Iona in the championship game 76–69. Hynes Athletic Center
The James P. Hynes Athletics Center is a 2,578-seat multi-purpose arena in New Rochelle, New York. It was built in 1974 and is home to the Iona University Gaels basketball and volleyball teams. In 2005, the building was renamed the Hynes Center, after being formerly known as the John A. Mulcahy Campus Events Center. Between the summer and fall of 2019, Hynes Athletics Center received a total of $6.5 million to expand and modernize the athletic center. 2010–11 Buffalo Bulls Men's Basketball Team
The 2010–11 Buffalo Bulls men's basketball team represented the University at Buffalo during the 2010–11 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bulls, led by twelfth-year head coach Reggie Witherspoon, played their home games at Alumni Arena in Amherst, New York as members of the Mid-American Conference (MAC). They finished the season 20–14, 8–8 in MAC play to finish in sixth place in the MAC East. It was the third 20-win season in the school's NCAA Division I history and the second in their past three seasons. Great West Conference
The Great West Conference (GWC) was an NCAA college athletic conference in the continental United States. Originally a football-only league, it became an all-sports entity during the 2008–09 season. The GWC stopped sponsoring football following the 2011 season. The conference became defunct when four of the remaining five full member schools became members of other conferences on July 1, 2013. The 2010–11 North Dakota Fighting Sioux men's basketball team represented the University of North Dakota in the 2010–11 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Fighting Sioux, led by head coach Brian Jones (basketball, born 1971), Brian Jones, played their home games at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center in Grand Forks, North Dakota, as members of the Great West Conference. The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC, ) is a collegiate List of NCAA conferences, athletic conference affiliated with NCAA Division I. Western Athletic Conference
The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) is an NCAA Division I conference. The WAC covers a broad expanse of the Western United States with member institutions located in Arizona, California, Texas, Utah and Washington (state), Washington. The 2010–11 Furman Paladins men's basketball team represented Furman University in the 2010–11 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Paladins, led by head coach James Jackson, played their home games at Timmons Arena in Greenville, South Carolina, as members of the Southern Conference. The Paladins finished 3rd in the SoCon Southern Division during the regular season, and lost in the semifinals of the Southern Conference tournament to College of Charleston. The Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) is a collegiate athletic conference operating mostly in the Southeastern United States.
