2010–11 LSU Tigers Basketball Team
The 2010–11 LSU Tigers basketball team represented LSU during the 2010–11 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Tigers, led by 3rd-year head coach Trent Johnson, played their home games at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center and were members of the Southeastern Conference. They finished the season 11–21 and 3–13 in SEC play to finish last in the West division. They lost to Vanderbilt in the first round of the SEC Basketball tournament. Previous season The Tigers finished the 2009–10 season 11–20 overall and 2–14 in SEC play. They were not invited to either the NCAA tournament or the NIT. Trent Johnson
Trent Aubrey Johnson (born September 12, 1956) is a former American college basketball coach. Johnson had previously been the head coach at Cal State University Northridge, Texas Christian University, Louisiana State University, Stanford University, and University of Nevada. Early life and education Johnson was born in Berkeley, California. He graduated from Franklin High School in Seattle, Washington in 1974 and played at Boise State University from 1974 to 1978. He received his bachelor's degree in physical education from Boise State in 1983. Coaching career Nevada The University of Nevada, Reno hired Johnson as head coach for Nevada Wolf Pack men's basketball on March 7, 1999. This culminated in the 2003–04 season, when Johnson guided the Wolf Pack to a 25–9 record and its first NCAA tournament appearance since 1985. Mitchell Center
The Mitchell Center is a 10,041-seat multi-purpose arena on the campus of the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. It was completed in 1998 and is the home to the University of South Alabama Jaguars basketball teams. The Center is named for the Mitchell family, local real estate developers who have given over US$35 million to various University causes (both the Mitchell Cancer Institute and the Mitchell College of Business are named for them), including $1 million for construction of the Center. South Alabama Jaguars Men's Basketball
The South Alabama Jaguars men's the goats basketball program has competed in the Sun Belt Conference since 1978 when the league was formed. Since 1968, the Jaguars have compiled an overall record of 694–507 (.580). South Alabama has won the Sun Belt Conference championship five times and reached the NCAA tournament eight times. Centenary Gentlemen Basketball
The Centenary Gentlemen basketball team represents Centenary College, located in Shreveport, Louisiana, in NCAA Division III men's basketball competition. The "Gentlemen" nickname is exclusive to men's athletes and teams; ''Ladies'' is used for women's teams and athletes. The team is a member of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, which is part of the NCAA Division III. From 1960 until 2011, Centenary competed at the NCAA Division I level as a member of the Trans America Athletic Conference (now Atlantic Sun Conference) and most recently the Summit League before re-classifying to Division III.
