2010–11 Croatian Second Football League
The 2010–11 Druga HNL (also known as 2. HNL) was the 20th season of Croatia's second level football competition since its establishment in 1992. RNK Split were league champions and were promoted to Prva HNL at the end of the previous season. The competition started on 21 August 2010 and ended on 29 May 2011. Format The league was contested by 16 teams (two more than in the previous season). Despite planned reduction in the number of clubs in Prva HNL for the 2011–12 season (in which the top flight was set to be reduced from 16 to 12 clubs), CFF Assembly on 17 December 2010 delayed the execution of this changes by one year. In that scenario five clubs would have been relegated from top level to Druga HNL and Druga HNL winners promoted to top level, with five teams relegated from Druga HNL to third level. The Prva nogometna liga ( en, First football league), commonly Prva NL or 1. NL, is the second tier of the football league system in Croatia. The league was formed in 1991 with the breakup of Yugoslavia and the dissolution of the Yugoslav Second League. The 1. NK Croatia Sesvete
NK Croatia Sesvete was a Croatian football club based in the Sesvete district of the City of Zagreb. Previous club names: NK Sljeme (1957–1988), NK Sesvete (1988–1996), NK Badel Sesvete (1996–1997), NK Sesvete (1997–1998). The club was dissolved in 2012 due to financial irregularities. Newly formed NK Croatia Prigorje is seen as club's spiritual successor. 2010 Match fixing scandal In June 2010 Croatian Police started making arrests connected to match fixing in the Croatian League. 20 players in total, including 9 players from Croatia Sesvete were arrested. The nine were: Miljenko Bošnjak, Goran Jerković, Saša Mus, Ante Pokrajčić, Mario Čižmek, Marko Guja, Ivan Banović and Dario Šušak. It was also claimed by the police that 7 of Sesvete's 8 last matches in the league were fixed. The players received up to 40 thousand euros for the match-fixing. Stadion Hrvatski Vitezovi
Stadion Hrvatski vitezovi ( English: ''Croatian Knights Stadium'') is a football stadium in Dugopolje, near the city of Split in southern Croatia. The stadium has a capacity of 5,200 and is home to the second-level side NK Dugopolje. The stadium was officially opened on 22 July 2009, with a friendly game between Dugopolje and Hajduk Split. The stadium's construction cost was 55 million kuna and is part of a larger sports complex which includes club's administration buildings, several swimming pools and tennis courts. In June 2009 the stadium was visited by UEFA's stadium licensing inspection which gave it high marks, and approved the stadium to be used for European matches. Dugopolje
Dugopolje is a municipality in Croatia in the Split-Dalmatia County. The name ''Dugopolje'' literally translates as 'long field'. The town has a population of over 3469, 99.5% which are Croats. NK Vinogradar
NK Vinogradar ( en, FC Winemaker) was a Croatian football club based in the village of Lokošin Dol, part of the town of Jastrebarsko. The club merged with NK Jaska in 2021 after the death of Ivan Rubinić, the former owner who helped the club become well known as a well-run amateur team in the 2000s and 2010s with a number of cup runs. NK Pomorac
NK Pomorac 1921 is a Croatian football club based in Kostrena, a suburb of Rijeka which currently plays in Croatian third tier 3. HNL West. Kostrena is known for its maritime tradition, which is reflected in the club's name, as the word " pomorac" means "mariner" or "seaman" in English. NK Mosor
NK Mosor, also known as HBDNK "Mosor – Sveti Jure", is a Croatian football club from Žrnovnica, settlement which is part of the city of Split on the Croatian coast. The club was founded in 1928. It existed until World War II when most of its members enlisted in the army. When the war ended, the club had experienced such a high rate of fatalities that it was disbanded. In 1964 a team was once again formed. Since the 1990s the club has spent most of its time in the second division, never gaining promotion to the first league. Nogometni Klub Junak Sinj (''Football Club Junak Sinj''), commonly referred to as Junak Sinj or just Junak, is a prodessional Croatian football club based in the town of Sinj, in the southern Croatian region of Dalmatia.
