2010 Horizon League Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2010 Horizon League men's basketball tournament was played Tuesday, March 2 through Tuesday, March 9. The Horizon League Network broadcast the opening rounds, which were played at the home courts of the higher seeds. The Quarterfinals, Semifinals and Championship games were broadcast by ESPNU and ESPN/ESPN360.com respectively, and took place at the arena of the #1 overall seed, Butler University. The winner received an automatic bid to the 2010 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament, 2010 NCAA tournament. Seeds All Horizon League schools played in the tournament. Teams were seeded by 2009–10 Horizon League men's basketball season, 2009–10 Horizon League Conference season record, with a tiebreaker system to seed teams with identical conference records. Hinkle Fieldhouse
Hinkle Fieldhouse (named Butler Fieldhouse from 1928 until 1966) is a basketball arena on the campus of Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. Completed in early 1928, it was the largest basketball arena in the United States until 1950. The facility was renamed Hinkle Fieldhouse in 1966 in honor of Butler's longtime coach and athletic director, Paul D. "Tony" Hinkle. It is the sixth-oldest college basketball arena still in use. Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983 and designated a U.S. National Historic Landmark in 1987, Hinkle Fieldhouse is sometimes referred to as "Indiana's Basketball Cathedral." UW–Green Bay Phoenix Basketball
The Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball team is an NCAA Division I college basketball team competing in the Horizon League for the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay. They are coached by Doug Gottlieb. The Phoenix have appeared five times in the NCAA tournament, most recently in 2016. History The Green Bay men's basketball team began play in the 1969–70 school year where it competed at the NAIA level before moving to NCAA Division II in 1973. In 1982, it moved to NCAA Division I, where it competed in the Association of Mid-Continent Universities (now the Summit League). Since 1994, Green Bay has competed in the Horizon League (formerly the Midwestern Collegiate Conference). Ronald Nored
Ronald Nored (born March 1, 1990) is an American basketball coach, currently an assistant coach for the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Previously he served as the head coach of the Long Island Nets of the NBA G League, and an assistant coach for the Maine Red Claws of the Boston Celtics organization. He is a former point guard for Butler University's basketball team. Playing career High school Nored starred as an all-state point guard for Homewood High School in Homewood, Alabama, averaging 15.3 points and 6.9 rebounds per game as a senior, when he led the team to a 31–5 record and a state finals appearance in 2008. His career-high game came as a junior when he scored 38 points against Briarwood Christian High School. Gordon Hayward
Gordon Daniel Hayward (born March 23, 1990) is an American former professional basketball player. He played 14 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the Utah Jazz, Boston Celtics, Charlotte Hornets, and Oklahoma City Thunder. In college basketball, Hayward led the Butler Bulldogs to the championship game of the 2010 NCAA tournament. He was subsequently selected by the Utah Jazz with the ninth overall pick of the 2010 NBA draft. Hayward played seven seasons with the Jazz, and was selected to the 2017 NBA All-Star Game. Butler Bulldogs Men's Basketball
The Butler Bulldogs men's basketball team represents Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. The school's team currently competes in the Big East Conference. They play their home games at Hinkle Fieldhouse. History Butler competed as part of the Horizon League since its founding, and played basketball in other regional conferences before that, including the Missouri Valley Conference. In 2012 they left the Horizon League for the Atlantic 10 and the year after, moved to the Big East. Despite having played in a mid-major conference, Butler rose to national prominence in the late 1990s. The Wright State Raiders men's basketball is the men's college basketball team that represents Wright State University in Fairborn, Ohio. The Loyola Ramblers (also called the Loyola Chicago Ramblers) are the varsity sports teams of Loyola University Chicago. Most teams compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference, which the school joined in 2022 after leaving the Missouri Valley Conference. They previously played in the Horizon League.
