2010 European Athletics Championships
The 2010 European Athletics Championships were the 20th edition of the European Athletics Championships, organised under the supervision of the European Athletic Association. They were held at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain from 27 July to 1 August 2010. Barcelona was the first Spanish city to host the European Championships. Barni was the mascot of the event, he was the main promotional tool of the Championship. His name comes from Barna and was designed by the workshop Dortoka. Sylwester Bednarek
Sylwester Bednarek ( ; born 28 April 1989) is a Polish high jumper. He won the bronze medal at the 2009 World Championships and gold at the 2017 European Indoor Championships. Life and career Bednarek was born in Łódź. He finished fourth at the 2005 World Youth Championships and the 2006 World Junior Championships, finished sixth at the 2007 European Junior Championships and won the silver medal at the 2008 World Junior Championships. He also competed at the 2009 European Indoor Championships without reaching the final. He underwent knee surgery due to an injury in 2010 and returned to competition. Thomas Martin Parsons (born 5 May 1984 in Birmingham, United Kingdom) is a British athletics (sport), athlete competing in high jump. Parsons finished 20th in the 2003 European Juniors, 17th in the 2005 European U23 championships, 10th in the 2005 World University Games, 11th at the 2006 Commonwealth Games and 10th in the World Championships at Osaka. Jaroslav Bába () (born 2 September 1984 in Karviná) is a Czech Republic, Czech high jumper. At the 2004 IAAF World Indoor Championships he jumped 2.25 metres, winning a joint bronze medal along with Germaine Mason and Ştefan Vasilache. In the same year he won the Athletics at the 2004 Summer Olympics – Men's high jump, Olympic bronze medal with a jump of 2.34 m. Aleksey Vladimirovich Dmitrik (Russian: Алексей Владимирович Дмитрик; born 12 April 1984) is a Russian high jumper. He won the silver medal at the 2009 European Indoor Championships. He was born in Slantsy, Leningrad Oblast. He won the gold medal at the 2001 World Youth Championships, finished fourteenth at the 2002 World Junior Championships and was the runner-up to Jaroslav Bába at the 2003 European Athletics Junior Championships. Marco Fassinotti (born 29 April 1989 in Turin) is an Italian high jumper. Biography He has a record of 2.29 m, obtained in Paris on 5 March 2011. He was a finalist (7th) at the World Junior Championships in Athletics in Bydgoszcz on 13 July 2008.
