2010 Dublin Horse Show
The 2010 Dublin Horse Show was that year's edition of the Dublin Horse Show, the Irish official show jumping competition at Dublin. It was held as CSIO 5*. The main sponsor was Fáilte Ireland. The first horse show was held in 1864 in Dublin by the Royal Agricultural Society of Ireland. Since 1868 it is held by the Royal Dublin Society. In 1926 International Competitions were introduced to this horse show for the first time, it was also the first year the Aga Khan Trophy was held. The 2010 edition of the Fáilte Ireland Dublin Horse Show was held between 4 August 2010 and 8 August 2010. Dublin Horse Show
The Royal Dublin Society (RDS) ( ga, Cumann Ríoga Bhaile Átha Cliath) is an Irish philanthropic organisation and members club which was founded as the 'Dublin Society' on 25 June 1731 with the aim to see Ireland thrive culturally and economically. The RDS is synonymous with its 160,000 m2 campus in Ballsbridge, Dublin, Ireland. The premises include the ' RDS Arena', 'RDS Simmonscourt', 'RDS Main Hall' and other venues which are used regularly for exhibitions, concerts and sporting events like the Dublin Horse Show or as playground for the Leinster Rugby team. Denis Lynch
Denis Lynch (born 3 May 1976) is an Irish show jumper. He represented Ireland at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Early on 21 August it emerged that he had withdrawn from the equestrian individual final which was due to have been held later that day. It was later confirmed that Lynch was banned from entering the show jumping final due to his horse, Lantinus, being found to have been in contact with illegal substances. Latinus was found to have capsaicin in his system due to the use of a cream similar to Deep-heat called Equiblock. Lynch had been using the banned substance for some time but maintained that he did not know it was illegal. He described himself as "shattered" due to missing out on his chance for an Olympic medal. Lantinus was one of four horses banned on doping offences; the others were from Brazil, Germany and Norway. Nick Skelton
Nicholas David Skelton (born 30 December 1957, Bedworth, Warwickshire) is a British former equestrianism, equestrian who competed in show jumping. He retired at the age of 59 years old, on 5 April 2017. He began riding at age 18 months and in 1975 took two team silvers and an individual gold at the Junior European Championships. He has competed numerous times at the European Show Jumping Championships, winning three golds, three silvers and three bronzes both individually and with the British team over 26 years. In 1980, he competed in the 1980 Summer Olympics boycott, Alternative Olympics, where he helped the British team to a silver medal. William Ross Norman Funnell (born 10 February 1966, Ashford) is a top-class showjumper. Career Funnell has represented Britain internationally in many Nations Cup teams. In 2006 he won the Hickstead Derby for the first time and won it again two years later in 2008 and again in 2009. In 2018 William became one of 5 riders to win The Hickstead Derby 4 times, joining Harvey Smith, John and Michael Whitaker, and Eddie Macken. Peter Charles
Peter Charles, (born 1 January 1960) is an Irish-British equestrian who competes in the sport of show jumping. Originally a competitor for Great Britain, Charles changed nationalities to Irish in 1992. In 2007, he relinquished his status as an Irish rider and once again began representing Great Britain. He was in the British team which won the gold medal at the 2012 Olympics. Charles was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2013 New Year Honours for services to equestrianism. Michel Robert (24 December 1948, Corbelin) is a leading French international Grand Prix show jumping equestrian. He was born on 24 December 1948 in Corbelin. Richard Rankin Fellers (born October 3, 1959) is an American Olympic equestrian and horse trainer. In 2021, the United States Center for SafeSport ruled Fellers ineligible to participate in the sport, due to charges brought against him. Early life and education Fellers, the son of Richard D. and Colleen M. (Smith) Fellers, was born in Coos Bay, Oregon. He graduated from Yamhill-Carlton High School in 1978, and attended Oregon State University as an engineering major.
