FC Kuban Krasnodar
FC Kuban () was a Russian professional football club based in Krasnodar, which now only plays on a regional level. The team began playing in the Russian Premier League in 2011, having for won the Russian First Division a year prior. By then, it was one of the oldest professional football clubs in the country, with its foundation being linked to the Soviet NKVD as Dynamo Krasnodar. It changed its name at a time of political change in the USSR. Club members and fans were called "Kubantsy" () (because of its location) or "yellow-greens" (the club colours). The team was also known as the "Cossacks" by fans. Other nicknames associated with the club colours were "The Canaries" (analogous to the similar colours of the French FC Nantes and the English Norwich City F.C.) and "The Toads" (primarily by opponents and the Kuban Ultras). Flávio da Silva Amado (born 30 December 1979), better known as Flávio, is an Angolan former professional footballer who played as striker. He is the assistant of Angolan side Petro Atlético. Club career Flávio helped his team Al Ahly to participate in the FIFA Club World Championship two successive times in 2005 and 2006. Rui Manuel Marques (born 3 September 1977) is an Angolan former football defender who was a first choice centre-back for the Angola national team. Born in Angola, Marques moved to Portugal as a child. Club career Early career After coming through the youth ranks at Portuguese club Benfica, Marques left to join Swiss side FC Baden. Following his spell at Baden, he began his professional career at Germany's SSV Ulm 1846 in the 1999–2000 season. He subsequently moved to Hertha BSC, but did not appear in a single match for the first team in the Bundesliga. Djalma Braume Manuel Abel Campos (born 30 May 1987) is an Angolan retired professional footballer who played as a forward. He spent most of his career in Portugal, starting with Marítimo where he remained five seasons. In 2011, he signed with Porto, and also played several years in the Turkish Süper Lig. Carlos Alberto Fernandes (born 8 December 1979), known simply as Carlos, is an Angolan former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Club career Born in Kinshasa, Zaire, Carlos started his career as a striker, subsequently moving into goalkeeper upon replacing an injured teammate. He started playing professionally with lowly U.D.
