2009–10 Scottish Challenge Cup
The 2009–10 Scottish Challenge Cup, known as the ALBA Challenge Cup due to sponsorship reasons with MG Alba, was the 19th season of the competition, competed for by all 30 members of the Scottish Football League. The previous winner was Airdrie United F.C., Airdrie United, who defeated Ross County F.C., Ross County 3–2 on penalties after a 2–2 draw in the 2008 Scottish Challenge Cup Final, 2008 final. Airdrie United were knocked out in the first round by Partick Thistle F.C., Partick Thistle after a 1–0 loss. The final was contested by Dundee F.C., Dundee and Inverness Caledonian Thistle F.C., Inverness Caledonian Thistle at McDiarmid Park, Perth, Scotland, Perth on Sunday 22 November 2009. Caledonian Stadium is a football ground in the Longman area of Inverness, Scotland, near the banks of the Moray Firth. It hosts home matches of Scottish League One club Inverness Caledonian Thistle. History Inverness Caledonian Thistle was formed in 1994 by the merging of two Highland League clubs, Caledonian and Inverness Thistle. Between 1994 and 1996, the new club played their home matches at Telford Street Park, which had been the home ground of Caledonian. Borough Briggs is a football ground in Elgin, Moray, Scotland. This venue is the home ground of Elgin City who currently play in Scottish League Two. Borough Briggs opened on 20 August 1921 when Inverness Citadel were the visitors in a Highland League fixture, which Elgin won 3–0. The first player to score at the ground was City centre-half Willie Raitt after 20 minutes of the first-half at the Lossie Green end, other scorers were Alf Mitchell and Charlie Taylor. Rory McAllister (born 13 May 1987 in Aberdeen) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays for club Formartine United. Club career Inverness Caledonian Thistle After being released from Aberdeen's youth set-up (he never played for the first team, but did play for the reserves on a few occasions), McAllister was given a chance to resurrect his career at Inverness Caledonian Thistle. In three seasons he played in over 50 games, but scored just five goals. He made his league début for Inverness on 30 April 2005, as a second-half substitute against Kilmarnock. Brechin (; ) is a town and former royal burgh in Angus, Scotland. Traditionally Brechin was described as a city because of its cathedral and its status as the seat of a pre-Reformation Roman Catholic diocese (which continues today as an episcopal seat of the Scottish Episcopal Church), but that status has not been officially recognised in the modern era. Bayview Stadium
MGM Timber Bayview Stadium, known formerly as New Bayview, is a football stadium in the Scottish town of Methil, Fife. It is home to East Fife. It was opened in 1998, after the club relocated from the original Bayview Park across town. The stadium can accommodate up to spectators all of whom are seated in a single stand running along one side of the pitch. There are open areas for future expansion. In 2008, plans were announced to increase capacity with the erection of a covered terrace/stand at the sea end of the stadium. Due to the 2008 financial crisis, these plans were put on hold.
