2009–10 OFC Champions League
The 2009–10 OFC Champions League, also known as the 2010 O-League for short, was the 9th edition of the Oceanian Club Championship, Oceania's premier club football tournament organized by the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC), and the 4th season under the current OFC Champions League name. It was contested by eight teams from seven countries. The teams were split into two four-team pools, the winner of each pool contesting the title of O-League Champion and the right to represent the OFC at the 2010 FIFA Club World Cup. This was an expansion from previous tournaments which feature six teams in the group stage. The tournament was won by Hekari United of Papua New Guinea. PRK Hekari United
Hekari United, formerly known as POM Souths, Souths United, PRK Souths United and Hekari Souths United, is a professional football club formed in 2006, based in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. The club holds the record for most titles in the Papua New Guinea National Soccer League, having won eight consecutive titles from 2006 to 2014. They are also one of the two clubs from outside Australia and New Zealand to have won the OFC Champions League, and therefore to have represented Oceania at the FIFA Club World Cup, having achieved both in 2010. AS Manu-Ura is a French Polynesian football team based in Papeete, currently playing in the Tahiti First Division, the top football league in Tahiti. Formed in 1953, AS Manu Ura has a strong history in domestic and regional football with five league titles and three Coupe de Polynesie crowns to their name. Marist Football Club, formerly known as Marist Fire Football Club, is a Solomon Islands football club based in Honiara. They were winners of the 2006/2007 Solomon Islands National Club Championship. They qualified for the Oceania Club Championship 2006 hosted in Auckland, New Zealand which took place in May 2006. The 2008–09 Papua New Guinea National Soccer League season, known as the Telikom NSL Cup for sponsorship reasons, was the third edition of Papua New Guinea National Soccer League. The title was won by Hekari Souths United, who won their third consecutive title. The side were awarded the title after several postponements and the eventual cancellation of the Grand Final, by virtue of their superior regular season finish compared to Rapatona Tigers, who they were due to face in the final. Teams Eight teams entered the competition, an expansion of one from the previous season's seven. Previous season's runners-up Gelle Hills, and bottom two clubs Madang Fox and Besta Madang Fighters, all withdrew. The NZFC 2008–09 season is the fifth season of the New Zealand Football Championship competition. The previous seasons champion, Waitakere United, and second-ranked club Auckland City FC will also be competing in the 2008-09 O-League which will run alongside the NZFC season. AS Magenta is a New Caledonian football team playing at the top level. It is based in Nouméa. Their home stadium is Stade Numa-Daly Magenta.
