2009–10 Malian Première Division
The 2009–10 Malian Première Division is the 45th season and current championship of the Highest-Level of Professional Soccer in Mali. Overview Though the competition's structure has varied over time, the size of the league remained the same from the previous season. The championship is once again contested by 14 teams between December 2009 and September 2010. The league will be conducted over 26 rounds as well with all teams playing against each other twice on a home and away basis. The defending champions are Djoliba AC who won their second consecutive and 21st overall league championship. The structure by which promoted clubs are chosen has changed over time, but as of 2008, the two promoted teams are chosen from regional league tournaments. One club comes from Malian Groupe B league soccer tournament (for teams near Bamako and the west) and the other is the Malian Groupe A league which is a tournament for clubs outside Bamako. Malian Première Division
Malian Première Division ( French: ''Première division malienne'') is the top division of football in Mali. Having been created in 1966, it is governed by the Malian Football Federation. The league has been professional since 2004. The official name is Ligue 1 Orange Mali for sponsorship reasons. The season usually runs from December to late August. The league currently consists of twenty clubs split into two pools and features a round-robin home-and-away schedule within each pool. The top two in each pool qualify for the Championship Play-Off (''Carré d'As''), which involves a round-robin between the four teams. 2010 CAF Champions League
The 2010 CAF Champions League was the 46th edition of Africa's premier club football tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), and the 14th edition under the current CAF Champions League format. The winner, TP Mazembe qualified for the 2010 FIFA Club World Cup, and also played in the 2011 CAF Super Cup. Jeanne d'Arc FC is a Malian football club based in Bamako. History They will play in the 2008–09 Malian Première Division, the top division in Malian football. They are owned by former supporters of the Bamako club Stade Malien. Creation At the end of the 2006–07 season, a group of Stade supporters broke away to form their own football club, taking the "Jeanne d'Arc" name with them. The name is a reference to one of two defunct clubs which combined to form Stade Malien, ''Jeanne d'Arc du Soudan'' (founded 1938) in 1960. Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Yaoundé, Cameroon. It is used mostly for football matches and it also has athletics facilities. It was built in 1972. The stadium has been renovated in 2016 ahead of the African Women Cup of Nations tournament. It has a capacity of 42,500 seats. AS Korofina is a Malian football club. The team is based in the city of Bamako, in the ''Commune I'' neighborhood. Their home ground is Stade Modibo Keïta. They are also known by the acronym ASKO.
