2009–10 Leicester City F.C. Season
The 2009–10 season was Leicester City F.C.'s 105th season in the English football league system and their 58th in the second tier of English football. It was their first season back in the Championship after promotion from League One as champions in 2008–09. It was also the club's 125th anniversary season. Having just been promoted, Nigel Pearson's side surprised many by spending most of the season in the play-offs. They eventually finished fifth, reaching the play-offs. This was considered an impressive finish and a stride forward by many, considering Leicester were relegated from the same division two seasons previously. They eventually lost out in the play-off semi-finals to Cardiff City on a penalty shoot-out. The 2008–09 season was the 129th season of competitive football in England. The Premier League started on 16 August 2008, while the Championship, League One, and League Two matches started on 9 August 2008. The regular season of the Football League ended on 3 May 2009, while the Premier League ended on 24 May 2009. The Premier League title was won by Manchester United, capturing their 18th top-division title and third in a row. Three teams, Newcastle United, Middlesbrough, and West Bromwich Albion were relegated at the end of the season. Chris Weale
Christopher Weale (born 9 February 1982) is an English former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He is currently director of football at Sherborne School. Career Yeovil Town Born in Yeovil, Somerset, Weale was a product of Yeovil Town's youth system after joining Yeovil in August 1999 from local side Gillingham Town. Weale was first choice keeper for the Youth Team that won the South-West Counties Under 18s League title in 2000 and during the same season he broke into the Reserve side. Weale made his first team debut in July 2000 having come on as a substitute against Southampton in Tony Pennock's testimonial game before making his first full competitive debut against Wellington in the Somerset Premier Cup in October of that year. Marc Edworthy
Marc Edworthy (born 24 December 1972 in Barnstaple) is an English former professional footballer. He started out playing as a right winger before being moved to right back. He was also occasionally deployed at left back and in central defence. Career Plymouth Argyle Edworthy began his career with Plymouth Argyle in the 1991–1992 season. Crystal Palace Edworthy joined Crystal Palace who had just been relegated from the Premiership on 9 June 1995 for £350,000, and in his second season with the Eagles played an integral role in winning promotion to the Premier League. Patrick Kisnorbo
Patrick Fabio Maxime Kisnorbo (born 24 March 1981) is an Australian professional football manager and former player who was last serving as the head coach of J1 League club Yokohama F. Marinos. As a player, Kisnorbo was a primarily a centre-back, but also played as a defensive midfielder. He made eighteen appearances for the Australia national team. Kisnorbo was a fans' favourite at Leicester City, accumulating over 100 appearances in his four years at the club. During his time with Leicester, he was at the centre of a number of refereeing controversies in which officiating calls were later shown to be wrong. He has also suffered some injuries that affected his playing ability for a time. Paul Henderson (footballer)
Paul John Henderson (born 22 April 1976) is an Australian footballer who plays for Sydney Olympic FC as a goalkeeper in the National Premier Leagues. Club career Henderson started his career in club football in Australia. He played in the New South Wales Premier League for Sutherland before signing for NSL club Northern Spirit until the club became defunct in 2004. Bradford City Henderson then moved to England in July 2004 and had an unsuccessful trial with Blackpool, before signing for Bradford City in August on a one-year contract. Bruno Ngotty
Bruno Ngotty (born 10 June 1971) is a French former professional footballer. He played as a centre-back from 1988 until 2008, however he came out of retirement briefly in 2011. As well as his native country he has played in the top flight divisions in both Italy and England. He has notably played for Olympique Lyonnais, Paris Saint Germain, AC Milan, Olympique Marseille and Bolton Wanderers as well as earning six caps for France.
