2009–10 Lebanese Premier League
The 2009–10 Lebanese Premier League was the 49th season of top-tier football in Lebanon. A total of twelve teams are competing in the league, with Al-Nejmeh the defending champions. The season began on 10 October 2009 and will concluded in May 2010. Teams League size was increased from eleven to twelve teams for this season. Salam Zgharta were relegated to the second level of Lebanese football after ending the 2008–09 season in last place. Promoted from the second level were Al Islah Bourg Shamaly and Al-Ahli Saida Al Ahli Sporting Club Saida () is a football club based in Sidon, Lebanon, that competes in the . Al Ahed
Al Ahed Football Club () is a football club based in Ouzai, a district in Beirut, Lebanon, that competes in the Lebanese Premier League, the top flight of Lebanese football. The club was founded in 1964 as Al Ahed Al Jadeed, initially starting in the Third Division before reaching the Premier League for the first time in 1996. Nicknamed "the Yellow Castle" (), Ahed have won one AFC Cup title, nine Premier League titles, six FA Cup titles, two Federation Cup titles, eight Super Cup titles, and six Elite Cup titles. Safa Sporting Club () is a football club based in Wata El Msaytbeh, a district of Beirut, Lebanon. Racing Club (), known as Racing Beirut or simply Racing, is a football club based in Achrafieh, a district in Beirut, Lebanon, that competes in the . Tadamon Sporting Club Sour (), known as Tadamon Sour or simply Tadamon, is a football club based in Tyre, Lebanon, that competes in the , and is primarily supported by the Shia Muslim community. They play their home matches at the Tyre Municipal Stadium, and have won one Lebanese FA Cup and two Lebanese Challenge Cups. History In 1939, a group of students from Tyre, Lebanon, established a football team, which officially received its license in 1947. Rafic Hariri Stadium (), also known as Al Manara Stadium () or Nejmeh Stadium (), is a multi-use stadium in the Manara district of Beirut, Lebanon. It is currently used mostly for football matches and serves as the home for Nejmeh. Al Mabarra Club () is a football club based in Tarik Al-Matar, a district in Beirut, Lebanon, that competes in the . Established in 1987, they won one Lebanese FA Cup in 2008.
