2009–10 Juventus FC Season
The 2009–10 season was Juventus Football Club's 112th in existence and third consecutive season in the top flight of Italian football. Domestically, the team competed in Serie A, finishing seventh, as well as in the Coppa Italia, where they were eliminated in the quarter-finals. Having finished second in 2008–09, Juventus automatically qualified for a place in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League. After drawing their first two games, against Bordeaux and Bayern Munich, and winning their next two, a double header against Maccabi Haifa, the team lost their last two group stage games, including a 4–1 home defeat against Bayern Munich on the last matchday. As a result, they finished third in their group and qualified for a place in the Round of 32 in the UEFA Europa League. Claudio Marchisio
Claudio Marchisio (; born 19 January 1986) is an Italian former professional Association football, footballer who played as a midfielder. A product of the Juventus F.C. Youth Sector, Juventus youth system, he spent a large portion of his career at his hometown club, with the exception of a season-long loan spell at Empoli F.C., Empoli, winning seven consecutive Serie A titles between 2012 and 2018, and four consecutive Coppa Italia titles between 2015 and 2018. Hasan Salihamidžić (; born 1 January 1977), nicknamed Brazzo (, , "Little Bro"), is a Bosnian former professional footballer who last served as sporting director of Bundesliga club Bayern Munich. After starting his club career with German side Hamburger SV, he made a name for himself while playing for Bayern Munich for nine seasons with whom he won the Bundesliga title six times, DFB-Pokal title four times, the 2000–01 UEFA Champions League and the 2001 Intercontinental Cup. Fabio Grosso
Fabio Grosso (; born 28 November 1977) is an Italian professional football manager and former player. He is currently the head coach of Serie B club Sassuolo. After playing for several smaller Italian clubs, such as Renato Curi, Chieti and Perugia, he made his breakthrough during his two seasons as a left-back with Palermo, which earned him a move to defending Serie A champions Inter Milan in 2006. 2009–10 UEFA Europa League Knockout Phase
The knockout phase of the 2009–10 UEFA Europa League began on 18 February, and concluded with the final at the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg, Germany on 12 May 2010. The knockout phase involved the 24 teams that finished in the top two in each group in the group stage and the eight teams that finished in third place in the UEFA Champions League group stage.
