2009–10 FC Porto Season
The 2009–10 season is Futebol Clube do Porto's 76th season in the Primeira Liga, officially known as the Liga Sagres for sponsorship reasons. Porto won their fourth consecutive title last season and will be aiming to match their national record of winning five titles in a row. They are also the current Taça de Portugal holders after defeating Paços de Ferreira 1–0 last season at the Estádio do Jamor. FC Porto
Futebol Clube do Porto, Order of Prince Henry, MHIH, Order of Merit (Portugal), OM (), commonly known as FC Porto or simply Porto, is a Portuguese professional sports club based in Porto. It is best known for the professional association football, football team playing in the Primeira Liga, the top flight of Portuguese football league system, Portuguese football. João Pinto (footballer, Born 1961)
João Domingos da Silva Pinto (born 21 November 1961) is a Portuguese former footballer and manager. Having spent his entire professional career with Porto (16 years, winning a total of 24 major titles, including nine Primeira Liga and the 1987 European Cup), he was regarded as one of the greatest Portuguese right-backs of all time. Pinto represented the Portugal national team for more than one decade, appearing with them in one World Cup and one European Championship. Playing career Pinto was born in Oliveira do Douro, Vila Nova de Gaia, Porto District. A FC Porto trainee, it did not take him long to establish himself in the side's starting XI. Jorge Fucile
Jorge Ciro Fucile Perdomo (; born 19 November 1984) is a Uruguayan former professional footballer. A defender, he played as both right or left-back. After starting out at Liverpool Montevideo he moved to Porto in Portugal, going on to appear in 155 competitive matches over eight seasons and win 11 major titles, including five Primeira Liga championships and the 2011 Europa League. Milan Stepanov
Milan Stepanov (Serbian Cyrillic: Милан Степанов; born 2 April 1983) is a Serbian former professional footballer who played as a central defender. Club career Born in Kisač, Novi Sad, Serbia, Socialist Federative Republic of Yugoslavia, Stepanov came up through Vojvodina's ranks, making his first-team debut during the 2000–01 season and becoming team captain five years later. Raul José Trindade Meireles (; born 17 March 1983) is a Portuguese former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. After starting out at Boavista, he signed with Porto in 2004, going on to appear in 198 official games and win ten major trophies, including four Primeira Liga titles in a row. Bruno Eduardo Regufe Alves (; born 27 November 1981) is a Portuguese former footballer who played as a central defender, currently sporting director of Super League Greece club AEK Athens. Helton da Silva Arruda (born 18 May 1978), known simply as Helton, is a Brazilian former Association football, footballer who played as a Goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper. Estádio Do Dragão
The Estádio do Dragão (; ') is an all-seater football stadium in Porto, Portugal, and the home ground of FC Porto since 2003. It has a seating capacity of 50,033, making it the third-largest football stadium in Portugal. Designed by Portuguese architect Manuel Salgado, the stadium was constructed to replace Porto's former ground, the Estádio das Antas, along with becoming one of the host venues for the UEFA Euro 2004 final tournament. Vítor Manuel Martins Baía, OIH (; born 15 October 1969) is a Portuguese former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. One of the most decorated goalkeepers of all time, his career was intimately connected with FC Porto, which he started representing still in his teens, helping it to 26 titles and eventually remaining with the club in an ambassadorial role.
