2009–10 Croatian First Football League
The 2009–10 Croatian First Football League (officially known as the T-Com Prva HNL for sponsorship reasons) was the nineteenth season of the Croatian First Football League, the national championship for men's association football teams in Croatia, since its establishment in 1992. It began on 24 July 2009 and ended on 13 May 2010. GNK Dinamo Zagreb, Dinamo Zagreb were the defending champions, having won their eleventh championship title (and fourth consecutive title) the previous season, and they defended the title again, after a goalless draw with HNK Hajduk Split, Hajduk Split on 1 May 2010. The format was changed from previous season in that the league was expanded from 12 to 16 clubs. Croatian First Football League
The Hrvatska nogometna liga (; ), abbreviated as HNL and also known for sponsorship reasons as the SuperSport HNL, is a professional association football league in Croatia and the highest level of the Croatian football league system. Established in 1992, it was previously called Prva Hrvatska nogometna liga (1. HNL; ), but a league structure reorganization from 2022–23 led to name changes for the three top league levels. Overview The league was formed in 1991, following the independence of Croatia and the creation of a separate Croatian league from the Yugoslav First League. The 2008–09 Druga HNL (also known as 2. HNL) season was the 18th season of Croatia's second level football since its establishment in 1992. Croatia Sesvete were league champions and were promoted to Prva HNL at the end of the previous season. The league featured 16 clubs, playing in a double round robin league system. Krunoslav "Kruno" Jurčić (; born 26 November 1969) is a Croatian professional football manager and former player. He is currently the head coach of Egyptian Premier League club Pyramids FC. Playing career Club Jurčić started his professional career at Dinamo Zagreb in 1988, before moving to Inker Zaprešić in 1991 and Istra in 1993. He joined Belgian side Beveren in 1995, but returned to Dinamo Zagreb after one season following Beveren's relegation from the top flight. He subsequently spent three seasons with Dinamo Zagreb, also playing for them in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League in 1998. Saša Mus (born 19 July 1986) is a Croatian former professional footballer who last played for Hong Kong First Division League club Happy Valley as a defender. Club career Born in Slavonski Brod, Mus started his playing career with Marsonia in the Druga HNL. Over the next years, he emerged as an important part of the squad.
