2009 World Netball Series
The 2009 World Netball Series was the inaugural tournament of the World Netball Series. The 2009 Series was held at MEN Arena in Manchester, England from 9–11 October, and was the first major trial of the new FastNet rules that were announced by the International Federation of Netball Associations (IFNA) in 2008. New Zealand won the 2009 tournament with a 32–27 victory over Jamaica in the gold medal playoff. Organisation The 2009 World Netball Series was played under FastNet rules, which were designed to make games faster and more television-friendly, with the ultimate aim of raising the sport's profile and attracting more spectators and greater sponsorship. 2010 World Netball Series
The 2010 World Netball Series was the 2nd World Netball Series. England hosted Australia, Jamaica, Malawi, New Zealand and South Africa in a series, played in November 2010, at Liverpool's Echo Arena. South Africa made their series debut in this tournament. After two days of round-robin matches, Jamaica finished top of the ladder. However, in the semi-finals they lost to New Zealand. With a team coached by Robyn Broughton and captained by Maree Bowden, New Zealand went on to win the series for the second time after defeating England 28–26 in the final. Jamaica captain, Simone Forbes, was named tournament MVP. IFNA World Rankings
The World Netball Rankings are published by the World Netball to make it possible to compare the relative strengths of internationally active national netball teams. Initially, rankings were based on the results from the World Netball Championships, and released after the conclusion of each event, every four years. A new ranking system was implemented on 11 February 2008, wherein teams are ranked based on international tests played in the last four years. Teams appear on the rankings list once they have played eight international test matches. Australia and New Zealand have dominated the world rankings in previous years and they are the only two netball nations to have ever held the number one world ranking since its introduction in 2009. In 2018, England became the first team to be ranked in the top two outside of Australia and New Zealand, after winning gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia. Susan Pratley
Susan Leanne Pettitt (née ''Pratley'' on 23 March 1984) is a former Australian international netball player, who played goal attack or goal shooter. She was a member of the Australian national team from 2006–2018, replacing the likes of Eloise Southby-Halbish, Megan Dehn, and Cynna Kydd. Prior to this she was quite an experienced campaigner as captain of the Australian 21 and under team, and the national league team AIS Canberra Darters. She made her debut in 2002 with Sydney Sandpipers. Lauren Nourse
Lauren Nourse (born 10 August 1982) is a former Australia netball international. Between 2007 and 2011 she made 25 senior appearances for Australia. Nourse was a member of the Australia teams that won the gold medal at the 2007 World Netball Championships and the silver medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. Between 2004 and 2012, Nourse played for Queensland Firebirds. In 2011 she captained Firebirds when they won the 2011 ANZ Championship. Natalie Medhurst
Natalie Butler (born 20 January 1984) is an Australian international netball player. As well as playing for several clubs in Australia's domestic competitions, she also made multiple appearances for the Australian Diamonds in various international competitions and tests. Renae Hallinan
Renae Ingles (née Hallinan) (born 18 July 1986 in Melbourne, Australia) is a former Australia netball international who played in 67 tests for Australia. Career Ingles was primarily a wing-defence and centre player. She started her career with the Melbourne Phoenix and played with them for five seasons in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy, before joining the Melbourne Vixens in 2008 in the new ANZ Championships. In 2009, she was an integral member of the Melbourne Vixens lineup that won the Vixens' first ANZ Championship title. She moved to the Adelaide Thunderbirds for the 2012 and 2013 season. Kimberlee Green (born 5 March 1986) is an Australian former international netball player. Green was the captain of the Giants Netball team in the Suncorp Super Netball league and represented the Australia national netball team, Australian national netball team on 74 occasions. Susan Elizabeth Fuhrmann (born 30 July 1986), known as "the Fuhrmannator", is an Australian retired international netball player. Early life Susan Fuhrmann was born and raised in Katoomba, New South Wales until her parents moved to Perth when she was five-years old. She was an Australian Institute of Sport scholarship holder. Catherine Anne Cox (born 24 May 1976) is a former Australian netball international and current netball commentator. Between 1997 and 2013, she made 108 senior appearances for Australia. She was a prominent member of the Australia teams that won gold medals at the 2002 Commonwealth Games and the 2007 and 2011 World Netball Championships.
